The Stanislaus State Warriors host three visiting teams this week as they present the Warrior Challenge to start the 2015 season at Warrior Stadium. Azusa Pacific, Fresno Pacific and Cal State East Bay are participating in the event.

Home Match Promotions: Thursday night is Dorm Storm Night and Saturday night will be Women's Soccer Team Poster & Autograph night. Fans will receive a free schedule poster with the opportunity to meet and greet the team during the autograph session postgame.
Series Notes: The Warriors are 1-0-0 against Azusa Pacific after defeating the Cougars, 2-0, last September in Azusa in their first meeting.

Kirsten Coleman scored goals for Stanislaus in that match on Sept. 6 … Stanislaus State is 5-0-0 against Fresno Pacific in history. The last meeting was Sept. 2, 2010, in Fresno, a Stan State 1-0 win.
Preseason No. 10: The defending NCAA West Region Champions are ranked No. 10 in the NSCAA preseason poll heading into the season. This is the highest preseason ranking in team history.
Oh, All That Experience: The Warriors return 17 players from last year's championship team that went 16-4-2. The team's top four scorers
Jade Poon (14 goals, 3 assists),
Kirsten Coleman (10 goals, 5 assists),
Mikayla Clifford (7 goals, 2 assists) and
Sabrina Williamson (3 goals, 6 assists) are all back. Those four Warriors combined for 34 of the team's 44 goals and 84 of the 130 points from 2014 … Returning, too, is goalkeeper
Chelsea Lewandowski, who posted a 0.67 GAA with a 82.4 saves percentage with nine shutouts … Other starters returning include
Jordan Moineau,
Maryssa McDuffy and
Nichole Donald.
Home Pitch: The Warriors were 8-1-1 here at Warrior Stadium last season after a 13-1-1 run in 2013. That's 21-2-2 in the last 25 matches played on home field.
Dominating the PacWest: Stanislaus is now 22-2-1 overall against teams that are now part of the Pacific West Conference. The Warriors have gone unbeaten in the last 18 matches dating back to 2004 with a 17-1-0 record, including a current 14-match winning streak against a PacWest team.
About Azusa Pacific: Last season, the Cougars missed the postseason for the first time in 15 years, but it was their first as a Division II program. APU did win eight of its final nine matches to post its 18th consecutive 10-win season at 10-7-1 (8-3-1 PacWest) … Leading goal scorer Mayra Almazan returns after playing for the Costa Rica national soccer team. She had 7 goals and 4 assists in 2014.
About Fresno Pacific: First year head coach Rob Podeyn has 11 starters from the 2014 team all returning. FPU was 6-8-2 in 2014. Hannah Coyle is the top returning scorer as she led the Sunbirds with three goals as a sophomore … As a team the Sunbirds only scored 22 goals (five players each with 3 to lead team) last years,but Podeyn has bring a different style of offense from Southwest Baptist, which was sixth in the nation with 50 goals last year.
