Series Notes: Tuesday will be the first time that the Warriors are facing Sonoma State this season. Last season the defending CCAA champions finished with a 19-1 conference record, which included two wins over the Warriors. Both matches were decided in three sets. Overall, the Warriors are 8-28 against the Seawolves, with five home wins and three victories at The Wolves Den … The Warriors are traveling to Chico State to take on the Wildcats for the second time in 2016. Two weeks ago on Oct. 5 the Warriors lost to the Wildcats in three sets at home. The Warriors are 12-28 against Chico State overall, having beaten the Wildcats in three sets at home, and losing in three sets in Chico in 2015.

Third Time Is A Charm:  For the third week in a row middle blocker Taylor Massengale lead the warriors in front row hitting percentage (.423). In the past seven matches over a three-week time period, Massengale has made a mere 14 hitting errors on a total of 143 hitting attempts. Against Chico State and Humboldt State Massengale made only one hitting error. Against Cal State Monterey Bay this past weekend Massengale had an errorless match, not making a single error in all three sets.

Top of the North: This week marks the second week in a row that the Warriors have entered conference play at second in the North Division of the CCAA. With wins against San Francisco State and Cal State Monterey Bay last week, the Warriors have held their place near the top of the North.

Keeping a Spot at the Top: This week the top three teams in the North Division of the CCAA will go head-to-head. Tuesday's match is vital for both teams, as the winner will be second in the North Division. Beating the Seawolves on Tuesday would help secure the Warriors hold on second in the North. On the contrary, falling to Sonoma State would push them down the ladder.

About Sonoma State: Currently the Seawolves fall just behind the Warriors at third in the North Division of the CCAA. The Seawolves offense is being led by Caiti Weisner who averages 2.71 kills per set. She is followed closely by Rachel Andrews with an average of 2.50 kills per set, and Emily Papale with 2.43 kills per set. Megan Bohorguez leads the Seawolves defense with an average of 4.09 digs per set.
