Stan State also beat UCSD the following year, Oct. 10, 2014, 4-2 in La Jolla. In all, the Tritons lead the series 13-5-1 … This is the third meeting between the Warriors and Cal State San Marcos. The Cougars are in their second season in the CCAA. Last year, on Sept. 25, 2015, the Warriors won in San Marcos, 1-0, in double overtime. The only other time these teams met was in 2008 in a 0-0 tie.

Within the Ranks: The Warriors have dropped out of the NSCAA West Region poll after being ranked at No. 8 for three weeks (NR-Not Ranked). Nationally, UC San Diego is No. 9 and Sonoma State No. 20 in the Top 25 poll. Regionally, UCSD is at No. 2 behind Western Washington and Sonoma State is No. 3.

The game will also feature the top five scorers in the conference in Katie O'Laughlin (12), Jade Poon (7), Kiera Bocchino (7), Kirsten Coleman (6) and Mary Reilly (6).

Defense Kept Goals Away: The defensive unit and goalkeeper Haley Crook allowed just one goal last week and has shut-out opponents for 122-plus minutes. In fact, Chico State only managed six shots last Friday … For the season, the Warriors have only allowed 11 goals.

Senior Day Sunday: Seven Warrior seniors will be recognized in a pregame ceremony as they will be playing in their final regular season home match. The seniors are Kirsten Coleman, Reyna Buzon, Nicole Larson, Gabriela Vargas, Mikayla Clifford, Gabby Squarcia and Maryssa McDuffy.

About UC San Diego: The Tritons have won nine straight matches. They are a tie away from clinching a tournament berth … UCSD has not allowed a goal in the last 565-plus minutes of action with six straight shutouts. The last goal allowed was on Sept. 25 against Chico … The Tritons' only lost on the road (they are 5-1 this year away from home) was at Western Washington, currently the No. 1 team in Division II … Goalkeeper Itzel Gonzalez tops the CCAA with a 0.427 GAA … Katie O'Laughlin leads the CCAA with 12 goals and 27 points.

About Cal State San Marcos: The Cougars also won both matches last weekend, at home, against Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A. … Courtney McLeish is the CCAA player of the week with a goal and an assist … Yeya Millan has three goals to lead CSUSM.
