The Warriors are back at home to challenge Sonoma State and San Francisco State

This week the Warriors are back at home after spending five matches on the road. They will take on Sonoma State on Friday, and San Francisco State on Saturday night.

Series Notes: This will be the second time that the Warriors will go up against both Sonoma State and San Francisco State. When the Warriors traveled to Sonoma State just last week they were defeated by the Seawolves in four sets. Previous to 2016, the Warriors were 8-28 against the Seawolves, which included two losses to Sonoma State in 2015. Overall the Warriors have five home wins and three victories against the Seawolves at The Wolves Den…Previously this season the Warriors defeated the Gators in three sets at San Francisco State. The Warriors are 13-17 against the Gators, having beaten them twice in 2015. The Gators were able to take a single set off the Warriors in San Francisco last year, alternatively the Warriors beat the Gators in straight sets at home.
 
CCAA Statistics: Currently, Stanislaus State has three Warriors that have made it onto one of the conference top 10 leader lists. Outside Hitter Blair Ehrlich lands at number two on the top 10 kills list, with her average being 4.28 kills per set. She falls just behind Lauren Nicholson from Cal State San Bernardino with 4.35 kills per set…Setter Maddi Seidl is fourth on the top 10 assists list with an average of 10.05 assists per set. She falls behind the setters from Chico State, Cal State San Bernardino, and Cal State L.A…Taylor Massengale lands at number nine out of the top 10 hitting percentages in the conference. Massengale has an average hitting percentage of .286 for the 2016 season.

Home again: Nearing the end of the season, the Warriors have their last four home matches ahead of them over the next two weeks. The Warriors are strongest at home, with six out of their nine matches won having been played at Stan State.
 
Conference Tournament: After two losses last week the Warriors have dropped in the CCAA standings, making them fourth in the North Division. Cal State East Bay (7-6 CCAA) lands just ahead of the Warriors with one additional win, and Humboldt State trails closely behind the Warriors with a 5-6 conference record. The last three weeks of regular conference play will be crucial to the Warriors bid into the conference championship tournament.
 
About Sonoma State: The Seawolves offense is being led by Caiti Weisner who averages 2.80 kills per set. She is followed closely by Rachel Andrews with an average of 2.61 kills per set, and Emily Papale with 2.40 kills per set. Megan Bohorguez leads the Seawolves defense with an average of 3.92 digs per set.
 
About San Francisco State: The Gators are led by Haley Halpert with an average of 2.78 kills per set, and Christine Johnson who averages 2.76 kills per set. Setter Linda Aerne facilitates the Gators offense with an average of 7.24 assists per set, and Emily Johns leads the Gators back row with 3.91 digs per set.
