Series Notes:  Tuesday will mark the fourth time that the Warriors have faced Academy of Art. The Warriors are 1-2 against the Urban Knights, having last faced them in 2015 with a three set victory. Previous to last season, the Warrior hadn't come up against the Urban Knights since they lost to them twice back in 2008 … Friday's conference match suggests an even contest as the Warriors are 12-10 against the Lumberjacks since 2001. The Warriors have won five times out of 10 previous matches played at Lumberjack Arena.

Ehrlich Reaches 1,000: Friday night against Cal State Monterey Bay, outside hitter Blair Ehrlich surpassed the 1,000 career kills mark. Ehrlich entered the match only five away with 995 kills in her career. Quickly into the contest, Ehrlich celebrated her 1,000th kill midway through the first set.  She is now one of only four Warriors in history to reach this milestone. Hall of Famer Sarah Barnett set the career mark at 1,401, Lianne Vicchio is in a close second with 1,383, and Angie Tribble was the third former Warrior to pass the 1,000-kill mark with 1,204 kills. Ehrlich works her way up the record list as she is now at 1,024 career kills.

Starting A Streak: As the Warriors head into their second week of conference play, their two CCAA wins could potentially be the start of a winning streak. The Warriors are currently one of only three teams to have won two conference matches thus far. In the 2015 season, the Warriors were victorious in their first two conference matches, but ended their streak in their third CCAA match against Cal State L.A.

Newcomers Impacting Success: This season Stan State welcomed seven new Warriors into their program. Transfers Victoria Larsen (Fresno Pacific) and Sara Schell (Sierra College) have quickly joined the veteran Warriors in adding to the team's successes. Larsen has played in 29 of the Warriors 32 sets so far and Schell has played in 25. Assisting Ehrlich on the outside, Larsen has totaled 69 kills in the start of her first collegiate season. Schell has split her time in the front and back row, collecting 24 kills and 52 digs.

Libero Cervantes: Jocelyn Cervantes is coming off her best weekend as a Libero with 45 total digs. She tallied 25 against Cal State Monterey Bay and added another 20 versus Cal State East Bay and now leads the team with 123 digs. She now averages 3.84 digs per set … The last time a Warrior had back-to-back 20-dig matches was Oct. 25-26, 2013, when Sarah Crowl had 28 and 31 digs against the same two teams CSUMB and CSUEB, respectively.

About Academy of Art: The Urban Knights have lost seven straight matches since splitting opening day on Sept. 2. Their offense is led by Melissa Brum , who averages 2.86 kills per set, and Kabrina Speakman (2.50 kills per set) … Defensively, Art U is led by Margaret Winkler who has amassed 36 blocks and Lyndsay Mlynar with 180 digs. Setters Lilika Teu and Alana Lucas total 313 assists (Teu with 170 and Lucas with 143).

About Humboldt State: The Lumberjacks had their three-match winning streak snapped last Saturday versus Cal State San Bernardino as they split at home to start the CCAA season … HSU is led in the front row by Symone Hayden with 127 kills (3.34 kills per set). She is assisted by setters Katherine Rifilato and Jessica Lammers who have totaled 374 assists (Rifilato with 192 and Lammers with 182) … Katherine Rifilato (15) and Sarah Shively (13) aid offensive efforts with 28 of the Lumberjacks 54 aces. Shively also leads the Lumberjacks defense with 148 digs (3.89 per set).
