Two more home matches are on the regular season schedule this week as the Stan State men host Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay. Sunday's match will be the Senior Day contest.

SERIES NOTES: The Warriors are unbeaten against Cal State Monterey Bay since October of 2011 with a 8-0-1 record. They have won three straight in the series and are now 15-6-4 all-time against the Otters … Cal State East Bay won last year's meeting in Turlock but the Warriors are now 7-3-2 against the Pioneers (1-3-0 in the last four contests).
UPSET BID COMES UP SHORT: Cal Poly Pomona was on the ropes against Stanislaus State as the Warriors held a 2-1 lead late into the second half. The Bronocs, however, rallied for two goals in four minutes, capped by Sergi Monso's 17th goal of the year to beat the Warriors.
POWELL'S COACHING DEBUT: Associate Head Coach John Powell made his debut as the designated head coach on Sunday with Dana Taylor sitting out the match (he received a red card Friday night). Powell's team held its own for most of the match against the first place team and led 2-1 until the 73rd minute.
BENDER LEADING SCORER FOR SECOND YEAR: Sean Bender is the team's leading scorer for the second straight season as he currently leads with three goals and an assist for seven points. Last year he was the top scorer on the Stan State side with four goals and two assists for 10 points.
SCORING GOALS: After being shutout for 539 minutes during a six-game stretch in September, the Warriors have scored at least a goal in each of the last five matches. In all, they have netted 12 goals since the Sept. 29 2-1 win at Sonoma State.
SENIOR DAY SUNDAY: Eight Seniors will be recognized in the traditional Senior Day match on Sunday in a pregame event. These seniors are Ahmed Mohammed, Eric Kaufman, Patrick Colombana, Tomas Zajfert, Luis Hernandez, Rafael Chavez, Valentin Galan, Jr., and Matthew Waldron.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS: Cal State Monterey Bay has lost three straight matches, all by one goal. Adrian Rebollar and Makenna Pendleton each has three goals to lead the Otters. CSUMB took Cal State Dominguez Hills (21 points, 7-1 CCAA) to overtime before dropping a 0-1 decision back on Oct. 8 … Cal State East Bay snapped a 9-match winless streak (0-8-1) with a 4-1 win over non-conference foe UC Santa Cruz on Sunday. Evan Sanchez is the Pioneers' top scorer with five goals.
