This week Stan State volleyball will compete in two CCAA matchups on their home court. After facing them just last Friday, the Warriors will host San Francisco State on Tuesday and their travel partner Chico State on Saturday.

Series Notes: The Warriors are 14-18 against San Francisco State, losing to the Gators last weekend for the first time since 2014. In Friday's match the Warriors were defeated 25-18, 23-25, 19-25, 25-19, and 14-16 … Stan State is 12-30 against Chico State last beating them in 2015 at home. Last season the Warriors lost to Chico State twice during the regular season, but were able to take a set off of the Wildcats in Chico. Stan State faced CSUC again at the conference tournament where they were defeated in straight sets.
 
Home Stretch: In a span of 12 days the Warriors will host five home matches, after which they will not see Fitzpatrick Arena for three more weeks. With only eight total matches scheduled in Turlock this season, Stan State will play over half of their conference home schedule in the next two weeks.

Digging Through the Conference: Currently the Warriors are fifth in the conference in digs per set. Stan State averages 16.02 digs per set as a team, and UC San Diego leads with 18.2 digs per set.  

About San Francisco State:  Brenna Dougherty leads the Gators on offense with an average of 2.70 kills per set. Running a 6-2, Eden Fukushima leads with 8.48 assists per set and Cassandra Fong helps facilitate the Gator's offense with 7.48 assists per set. On defense, libero Jocelyn Rodriguez leads with 4.69 digs per set … Last Friday SFSU hosted the Warriors and were victorious in five sets. On Saturday, the Gators lost to Chico State in straight sets.

About Chico State: Chico State's leading hitter is Bekah Boyle who averages 2.91 kills per set from the outside. Also an outside hitter, Mckenna LaForge averages 2.53 kills per set. Setters McKenna Carroll and Nicole Desrochers split time running the Wildcats' offense, Carroll averaging 5.17 assists per set and Desrochers with 4.64 assists per set. In the back row Brook Fogel leads Chico State with 4.26 digs per set … Last Friday the Wildcats played at Sonoma State where they lost in four sets, and were victorious in three sets against San Francisco State on Saturday.
