Warrior volleyball continues stretch of home matches

This week Stan State volleyball will host two more conference matchups against CCAA North teams.The Warriors' week is scheduled to begin with Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday and Cal State East Bay on Saturday.

Series Notes: Stan State is 11-15 against Cal State Monterey Bay, beating them twice last season. The Warriors are on a four-match winning streak against the Otters, defeating them in straight sets in all four matches ... Stan State has a 9-8 record against Cal State East Bay, posting a win at home and a loss at CSUEB last season. Both matches were three-set decisions. 

Home Stretch: Stan State is in the midst of a four-match stretch of home competitions, after which the Warriors will not see Fitzpatrick Arena again until senior night on Nov. 4th. With only eight total matches scheduled in Turlock this season, Stan State has already made it through half of their home schedule for the season.

Snapping The Streak: The Warriors posted their first win last weekend, defeating Chico State in four sets at home. Stan State played an impressive match against the Wildcats with middle blocker Alana Wilson-Reid heading up the Warriors' offense with 15 kills. 

About Cal State Monterey Bay: Maddy Underwood leads Cal State East Bay with 3.15 kills per set. Ashlynne Armstrong heads up the Otters defense with 4.65 digs per set and Erica Chapa follows with 3.15 digs per set. Chapa also facilitated Monterey's offense with 10.33 assists per set ... Last weekend the Otters beat San Francisco State at home in straight sets and fell to Sonoma State in four sets. 

About Cal State East Bay: Kiki Leuteneker is the leading hitter for the Pioneers with an average of 2.80 kills per set. Setters Katie Ireland and Audrey Lamoureux split time running the Pioneers offense, Ireland averaging 6.90 assists per set and Lamuoreux with 5.04 assists per set. Brandi Brucato is the Pioneers top defender with an average of 4.21 digs per set ... Last weekend Cal State East Bay went undefeated beating Sonoma State in five sets and San Francisco State in three sets.
