FRESNO — A strong start and a sharp-shooting night propelled the Stanislaus State women's basketball team to an easy 84-60 victory over Fresno Pacific Tuesday night.

Stanislaus pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 20-10 scoring difference and led by as many as 24 points late in the game.

In a team effort win, Stan State also got points from Angelica Baylon (8) and Letty Infante (8). Baylon, who returns from an sprained ankle, also had five steals and three assists in 22 minutes of play. Davis and Zahria Hendrix each had four assists while Whitney and Kyra Brady each added six points.

Stanislaus State also dominated the inside game with 58 points from in the paint.

Despite shooting just 2 of 15 from the three-point arch, the Warriors stayed ahead thanks to FPU's poor shooting. The Sunbirds shot just 29.2 for the game, including a dismal 7 of 33 (21.2 percent) in the second half.

After the Thanksgiving break, the Warriors will resume CCAA play when they travel to Chico to face the Chico State Wildcats on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
