TURLOCK - San Francisco State scored 11 runs in one game and rallied for four runs in its final at bats in game two as the Gators swept Stanislaus State on Saturday afternoon to win the series.
Five early runs in the first two innings set the tables for SF State in game one as the Gators routed the host Warriors 11-0. In the series finale, the Warriors couldn't hold on to a two-run lead as the Gators scored twice in their final at bats for the 4-2 comeback win.
Stan State falls to 12-14 overall and 8-12 in the CCAA after winning one game in each of the last four four-game sets against conference foes. San Francisco State improved to 11-15, 10-14 in league play.
Ruby Quiralte had two hits with a double in the final game. Her RBI single gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead in the first. Anysa Garvin scored on a wild pitch in the third inning to make it 2-0. However, those were the only two runs Stanislaus was able to push across on the day against SF State pitchers Aryn Guzman and Lindsey Cassidy.
With a 2-0 lead, the Warriors allowed SF State to score four times in the seventh — three via a homer by Delanie Chrisman.
In game one
Alexus Martinez went 2-for-2 with a double.
Nicolette Vizcaino,
Cassidy Duke, and
Ruby Quiralte each had one hit.
The Warriors will next be in action on Friday and Saturday at Cal State East Bay. The make-up games against Cal State Monterey Bay, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, are again postponed due to rain in the forecast.
