POMONA — It was the Warriors' turn to give up unearned runs as Stanislaus State dropped the series finale, 7-3, to Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday.

Four Stan State errors ultimately led to all seven Cal Poly Pomona runs as the host Broncos avoided being swept by the Warriors. Stanislaus won both games on Saturday and despite snapping a four-game winning streak, the Warriors are now 19-10 overall and 9-9 in the CCAA North, just two games behind second place Cal State Monterey Bay.

In fact, after leader Chico State (16-1 in CCAA), four teams are two games apart between second and fifth place in the CCAA North.

On Sunday, Cal Poly Pomona scored single runs in each of the first three innings — all on Warrior mistakes (a passed ball and two throwing errors). Starter Stewart Alexander gave up the three unearned runs on just four hits in five innings of work, but he didn't help himself by issuing six walks.

The Warriors managed to tie the game with a run in the sixth on a bases loaded walk and two runs in the seven via RBI singles by Kyle Nixon and John Holleran. However, Pomona scored four unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth. The Warriors committed two errors in the inning with a passed ball and a wild pitch.

In the end, Holleran had two of the Warriors' seven hits on a 2-for-3 day. He also drew two walks. Woods went 1-for-4 with the double and stole a base.

The wild game included a total of 13 walks issues (seven by Pomona starter Kyle Dohy) and eight errors (four by each team).
