This week the Warriors will stay in the CCAA North with day trips to San Francisco State on Friday and Sonoma State on Saturday.

Series Notes: The Warriors are 14-17 against San Francisco State and are currently on a four-match winning streak against the Gators. Last season Stan State defeated SFSU in straight sets both at home and at The Swamp … The Warriors are 8-29 against Sonoma State overall, last earning a victory over the Seawolves in 2007. Stan State took on SSU once last season in Rohnert Park, taking a single set off of the Seawolves.  
 
Another Freshman in The Books: This past weekend against Cal State San Marcos, freshman Kaitlyn Iwamoto tied the second best single match record of 35 digs. Also freshmen at the time, Megan Powell tallied 35 digs back in 2007 against BYU Hawaii, and Sarah Crowl joined the list with 35 digs against Hawaii Pacific in 2013. Megan Powell currently holds the single match record of 40 digs, which she set against Cal State Monterey Bay in 2010.

Preventing A Historical Repeat: The Last time Stan State volleyball started the season with 12 consecutive losses was in 2003. Under coach Cindy Nikkel, the Warriors went 0-20 before breaking the streak and earning their only win of the season over San Francisco State.

About San Francisco State:  Drew Morris currently leads the Gators from the outside with an average of 3.22 kills per set. Setters Eden Kukushima (8.24 assists per set) and Cassandra Fong (7.48 assists per set) split time running San Francisco State's offense. On defense, libero Jocelyn Rodriguez leads with an average of 4.63 digs per set and middle blocker Lauren Williams averages 1.05 blocks per set … Last week the Gators lost to their travel partner Sonoma State in straight sets on Wednesday before making the trip to Humboldt State on Saturday and losing in four sets.  

About Sonoma State: Currently Sonoma State's leading hitter is Caiti Wiesner who averages 3.29 kills per set. She is also second on the team with an average of 3.02 digs per set while Megan Bohorguez leads with 4.17 digs per set. Also on defense, middle blocker Morgan Annala averages 1.23 blocks per set and Courtney Seda facilitates the Seawolves offense with 11.31 assists per set … Last week the Seawolves beat the Gators in three sets and defeated Humboldt State in Arcata on Friday in four sets.
