TURLOCK — Sierra Adams came within one spike of another 20-kill night as she led the Stan State women's volleyball team to a straight set win over Sonoma State, 25-15, 25-20, 25-18, Saturday night.

Stanislaus State (15-10) won both matches this weekend to improve to 8-9 in CCAA play with one regular season contest remaining. The Warriors' postseason fate could come down to their finale, next Saturday, versus Chico State at Fitzpatrick Arena, where they are 9-4 this season.

A win over Chico State, Stanislaus State would secure a berth in the CCAA Tournament it hosts Nov. 8-10. A loss on Senior Night could mean a three-way tie for two remaining berths. Then, the tiebreaker procedures come into play.

However, on Saturday night, the Warriors took care of business in a match they need to win to keep pace.

Adams was once again dominant on the attack with 19 kills on 31 swings with just one error — that's an amazing .581 hitting percentage. It was her eighth time with 18 kills or more. Adams continues to be among the leaders in the CCAA. She is now fifth in the conference with a .344 attacking percentage. Her average is the best among players with 450 or more attempts.

The back row was strong on the night with libero Chelsey Berry leading the way 20 digs for half of the team's total. Ramey Gardner had nine kills and seven digs. Jordon Wilson had four total blocks.
