Warriors drop tough contest to Cal State Monterey Bay

TURLOCK – The Warriors were unable to keep up with the Otters of Monterey Bay on Thursday night as they were defeated 0-7. As the season comes to a close for the Stan State men on Saturday, this was a heartbreaking loss.
 
The Warriors are now 0-11-0 in the CCAA and 3-13-0 overall. Cal State Monterey Bay brings their record to 4-5-2 in the CCAA and 9-5-2 overall.
 
GOALS
  • Adrian Rebollar made the first goal in the 14th minutes unassisted off of a foul.
  • Walmer Martinez also came out in the 14th minute less than 30 seconds later assisted by Harry Barba to bring the Otters up 2-0 over the Warriors.
  • The Otters were on fire as Francesco Cianci was assisted by Rebollar in the 16th minute to complete his first goal of the game.
  • Luis Lopez scored in the 29th minute from low right assisted by Martinez.
  • Goal No. 5 for the Otters was made by Antonio Ordonez in the 49th minute assisted by Marcus Decouto.
  • Martinez scored his second goal of the night in the 54th minute and was unassisted after dribbling in from the left wing for a shot in the box.
  • The Otters earned their 7th goal off an own goal from Antonio Hernandez in the 73rd minute.
GOALKEEPER NOTES
  • In the 20th minute, Daniel Dubiel made an excellent save from No. 12 Miguel Guerrero.
  • At the half, Dubiel had made three saves.
  • In the 8th minute, Justin Motzkus made a great save after Guerrero tried to score again.
  • Motzkus finished the game with two saves. 
NOTEWORTHY
  • The Warriors are 15-8-5 against the Otters since they first played each other in August 2002.
  • The Warriors lost to the Otters, 1-2, when they last met in September 2018. 
UP NEXT
The men will take on Cal State East Bay on Saturday, November 9th for their last game of the season. The Senior Day game will begin at 11:30 a.m.
