Stan State took sole possession of first place behind Marshall's career night

CHICO — In a battle of the CCAA North's first place women's volleyball teams, Stanislaus State smashed host Chico State to take sole possession at the top after the straight set win Saturday night.

Stanislaus State extended its lead in the division and is now 15-8 overall and 10-6 in league play after the 26-24, 25-22, 25-20 victory. Chico State falls to 13-11, 9-7 CCAA.
 
Top Warrior Performers
Mya Marshall slammed a career-high 14 kills in the match. She was 14 of 30 with one error for a hot .433 hitting percentage. She also had 11 digs for her first double-duble.
Rachel Klopfer put-away 11 kills.
Sierra Adams also had 11 kills to go with two blocks. She hit .391.
Jordon Wilson led the net-game with six total blocks with two solos.
Krista Hernandez had 13 digs and two service aces.
• Setter Eyriana Eatmon dished 25 assists with 12 digs.
 
Team Stats Comparisons
• The Warriors hit a solid .319 as a team. All three main hitters — Marshall, Klopfer and Adams — all post .286 or better percentages. Chico State hit just .180.
• Stanislaus State had 13 total blocks versus Chico's two.

• With two matches left to play, the Warriors have a .625 winning percentage as the leaders in the CCAA North.
• If the regular season ends today, Stan State would be the No. 4 seed in the 8-team conference tournament.
