Senior Day leads to another great victory for the Warriors going into the post-season

 TURLOCK – The Warriors are heading into post-season with another win! Stanislaus State and East Bay started out battling each other to win but eventually Stan State pulled out the win in the second half. The Warriors beat the Pioneers 2-1.
 
The Warriors complete their season 14-4-0 overall and 8-4-0 in the CCAA. The Pioneers complete their season 5-6-1 in conference and 6-9-3 overall.
 
GOALS
  • After a tough battle, Sadie Ortiz scored assisted by Ilena Rivera in the 57th minute!
  • Daisy Martinez scored her first goal of the season in the 75th minute! Micaela Brewer passed from across to Martinez for a goal in the box!
  • A late goal for the Pioneers came from an unassisted Chace Miguel in the 88th minute. 
SENIOR HIGHLIGHTS
  • Alyssa Herrman concludes her last regular season with eight shutouts and 65 saves. In her career as a Warrior she has a total of 11 shutouts and 99 saves.
  • Selia Torres had two shots, one of which was on goal.
  • Sadie Ortiz scored one goal and had three shots, two of which were on goal. Unfortunately, Ortiz got a ball to the face and had to get taken out of the game, but only for a little, she recovered and got a few minutes left for her last regular game as a Warrior.
  • Micaela Brewer had one assist in Saturday's game!

"This game was exactly what we needed. East Bay was fighting for a spot in the tournament so it created a playoff type intensity."

"Senior day is always an emotional day for the players and coaches. This has been an amazing senior class. I'm happy that we still have more time together with them and as a team."

NOTEWORTHY
  • The Warriors will host a first round match as the No. 4 seed, on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Their opponent, the No. 5 seed, is Cal State Dominguez Hills. 
  • The winners of Tuesday's two first round matches will advance to the semifinals of the CCAA Championship tournament on Friday, Nov. 15 in La Jolla with the championship match on Sunday, Nov. 17.
  • The Warriors are 16-3-2 against the Pioneers since they first met in October 1998.
  • The last time the two teams met, the teams ties 1-1 in September 2018.
UP NEXT
 
The women are headed into CCAA playoffs! The first game of the post-season will take place at home on November 12 at 6 p.m. The Warriors will take on the No. 5 team, Cal State Dominguez Hills.
