LOS ANGELES — The Stanislau State baseball team managed four hits in Sunday's series finale to drop the 4-3 game to Cal State L.A., which results in a series sweep by the Golden Eagles.
The Warriors lost three straight close games against good Cal State L.A. pitching and will return home with 13-11 overall and 9-9 CCAA records.
In Sunday's finale,
Jack Large homered again, but again the Warriors had to play from behind before coming up short. Stan State trailed 4-2 and got a run in the sixth on a
Vinny Margiotta groundout to get within one.
Kevin Hahn was tagged with the loss before
Matt Pulos pitching three more strong relief innings with four strike outs. Pulos did not give up a hit in those three innings extending his hitless inning streak to 11. During the streak, he's fanned 17 batters.
The Warriors batted .168 for the series (21 for 125) after a hot offensive weekend the previous week at Cal State Monterey Bay.
