ST. GEORGE, Utah — Unable to close out the match, the Stanislaus State women's volleyball team dropped to Colorado Christian in five sets, 26-24, 25-21, 22-25, 21-25, 10-15, Saturday to close out the trip to Southern Utah.
The Warriors will return home with a 1-2 record with Colorado Christian upping its record to 2-1.
TOP PERFORMANCES
•
Macky Morris had a monstrous match. She smashed a career-high 21 kills with 20 digs plus four blocks. In three matches, she tallied 37 kills, 36 assists and eight blocks.

Rachel Klopfer, who missed action on Friday with a flu, pounded away 15 kills with 13 digs plus five service aces.
•
Krista Hernandez posted a new season-high with 21 digs.
•
Jordon Wilson blocked eight more balls, including a solo.
•
Breanna Cannon dished 42 assists in the long five-set match.
KEY MOMENTS OF THE MATCH
• After a tight first set with Stan State winning 26-24, the Warriors took the second set 25-21. However, Colorado Christian rallied to win three straight sets.
• A CCU 7-2 run gave the Cougars the third set win to keep them alive. The Warriors had lead at 20-18.
NOTEWORTHY
• Morris is the first Warrior to post 20-kills and 20-digs in a match since Blair Ehrlich had 20 kills and 21 digs against Academy of Art on Sept. 20, 2016.
• Cannon now has 1,419 career assists and could move up in the top five next weekend. She's just 146 assists shy of Nicki Brown (1,565) for No. 6 on the Stan State all-time list.

The Warriors host a six-team D2 West Region Showcase tournament next weekend at Fitzpatrick Arena. Tournament action begins on Thursday at 10 a.m. Stan State plays Western Oregon at 12:30 p.m. and versus Northwest Nazarene at 8 p.m. on Sept. 12.
