LA MIRADA – The Warriors played strong against the Eagles of Biola and were close in several of their matches despite losing, 4-3. Both
Karrigan Cook and
Kate Bolton swept the Eagles in all three of their matches as singles and doubles pair.
The Warriors are now 2-4 overall while the Biola Eagles are 6-5.
Karrigan Cook was a front runner for the Warriors as she went 2-0 in her matches. At No. 6 singles, Cook beat Madison Swaney; 6-0, 6-1. In her No. 3 doubles with partner,
Kate Bolton, they won 7-5.
Bolton also won at No. 5 singles and went 2-0 over the day after she beat Allison Torres; 6-3, 7-5. Torres started to catch up as Bolton fell behind in the second set 3-5 but she soon gained back her momentum and got those four points she needed to win the match.
Tay Cazarin lost her first set 5-7 to Lauren Lee at No. 4 singles but won the second match 6-2. Cazarin kept up her energy and won in the tiebreaker, 10-7. Cazarin earned the third point of the match for the Warriors.
Overall the team played great against Biola and kept their momentum the entire day.
The team will stay down in Southern California on March 1 as they take on the Golden Eagles of Cal State L.A. at 11 a.m.
