Game Recap: Baseball |

Tinsley aces Golden Eagles with complete game and 12 Ks

TURLOCK — When Rylan Tinsley is on the mound, it usually win-day for the Stanislaus State Warriors.

That certainly was the case Friday night as the sophomore ace dealt a complete game and struck out 12 to improve to 6-0.

Stan State also snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 13-6 overall and 7-6 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Cal State L.A. has lost nine straight games and is now 4-13, 3-10 CCAA. The Golden Eagles were led by Nick Atkins with three doubles.

TOP WARRIOR OF THE NIGHT
Rylan Tinsley gave up just five hits and a solo homer to L.A. He fanned 12 without giving up a walk in his second collegiate complete game.
Matt Elser went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs with a double. His three-run double in the seventh inning help the Warriors bust open the game.
Alexis Paz drove in two runs.
Grant Victor was 2-for-3.
Nathan Gutierrez also had two hits and drove in a run.

TINSLEY WAS DOMINATE
Rylan Tinsley retired 16 of 17 batters to start the game.
• He recorded at least a strikeout in every inning. He fanned two Golden Eagles in the second, seventh and ninth innings.
• Tinsley also threw a complete game two weeks ago at Cal State East Bay.
• Tinsley's 12 strikeouts is a season high and the most since fanning 13 at the CCAA Tournament game last May over Chico State.

END HOME LOSING STREAK
The Warriors snapped a three-game home losing streak. Stan State had lost three straight at home for the first time since 2018.
