TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State's
Kaela Dishion was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced by the conference this morning. Dishion ran a career best time of 20:00.1 to finish in sixth place at the Bronco Invitational this Saturday morning in Sunnyvale, Calif. This is the third time this season that Dishion has earned this honor. She is the first three-time recipient of this honor since 2016.
At the Bronco Invitational, the Warrior harrier led her team to an eighth-place finish. During her career, Dishion has earned this honor four times including three times this season.
Dishion earned this honor for the second time on September 26 for her first-place finish at the Cougar Challenge in San Marcos. She paced the No. 8 Warriors to the team title at the challenge.
Earlier this season, Dishon was named the CCAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance at the USF Invitational on September 23 in San Francisco. She finished third at the USF Invitational with her time of 20:59.8 while the Warriors to a third-place finish.
Stan State will now prepare for the CCAA Championships which will take place on November 5 in Carmel, Calif. The Warriors are looking to defend their title as is Dishion looking to defend her individual title.
