Warriors to Host Pioneers on Senior Day this Thursday

TURLOCK, Calif.---  Stanislaus State will host Cal State East Bay in its 2022 regular season home finale this Thursday, October 27 at 2pm at Warrior Field. Prior to the match, the Warriors will recognize its seniors in Daniel Gomez, Jorge Lara, Jack Montejano, Alex Renderos and Josh Santillan.
 
LAST MATCHES:  The Warriors went 0-1-1 last week to begin their three-match home stand. Stan State begin the weekend with a 4-0 loss to No. 7 Cal State Los Angeles on Friday evening. The Warriors finished the weekend with a 1-1 draw with No. 13 Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday afternoon. Sammy Villanueva scored the game-tying goal for the Warriors in the 84th minute on a free kick. Robby Rosas had 12 saves in goal for the Warriors in their two matches against the two nationally ranked opponents.
 
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS:  Stan State enters its regular season home finale with a 4-7-6 overall record and a 1-6-3 CCAA record. Josh Santillan leads the team with his seven goals, two assists and 15 points. Two of his goals were game-winning goals. Alecxander Cuellar is next with his three goals, one assist, seven points and one game-winning goal. Finn Hoffmann is third on the team with his two goals, two assists, six points and one game-winning goal followed by Daniel Gomez with two goals for four points. Robby Rosas has a 1.27 goals against average with a .753 saves percentage and five shutouts.
 
Stan State is 0-2-2 in its last four matches with two draws against nationally ranked opponents No. 2 Cal State Dominguez Hills (1-1) and No. 13 Cal Poly Pomona (1-1).
 
AMONGST THE NCAA/CCAA LEADERS:  Josh Santillan is third in the CCAA with his seven goals. He is also tied for fourth with 17 points and tied for second with his two game-winning goals. Robby Rosas is fifth in saves per game (3.87), tied for sixth in shutouts (five) and tenth in goals against average (1.267). He is 35th in the nation with his five shutouts this season.
 
SENIOR DAY THIS THURSDAY:  Prior to Thursday's match versus Cal State East Bay, the Warriors will recognize its five seniors in Daniel Gomez, Jorge Lara, Jack Montejano, Alex Renderos and Josh Santillan. All five Warriors will be playing their final match in Stan State men's soccer uniform.
 
PIONEERS IN REVIEW:  Cal State East Bay is 4-8-5 overall and 2-5-3 in the CCAA after losing 4-0 to No. 13 Cal Poly Pomona and 2-1 to No. 7 Cal State Los Angeles this weekend in its final home matches of the regular season. Aaron Farnan leads the Pioneers with his four goals, four assists and 12 points. Josh Gaeckle has scored two goals while assisting on four goals for eight points. Zavier Hajdukovich has 1.50 goals against average with a .791 saves percentage and six shutouts.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES:  Stan State leads the all-time series with the Pioneers 10-5-2. The Warriors are 2-2-1 in the last five meetings between the two teams. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw earlier this season in Hayward in a non-conference match. Stan State defeated the Pioneers 6-1 in Turlock last season. Dayne Sturtevant scored two goals and Finn Hoffman had one goal for the Warriors.
