Final Regular Season Road Trip for Warrior Volleyball at Monterey and SF State

LAST MATCH: Two revenge games for Stan State last week resulted in a 3-1 win over Cal State East Bay and a 3-2 win over Cal State San Marcos. 
 
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS: The Warriors won two straight matches last week to improve their record to 18-6 overall, 6-3 at home, and 8-3 on the road. 
 
AMONGST THE CCAA LEADERS: Still sitting at #5 in the CCAA, the team is even at 9-5 in conference play with Sonoma State. As a collective, the Warriors are currently 2nd in the conference in blocks (2.20/set), 2nd in digs (15.48/set) and 3nd in opponent hitting percentage (.155). Alex Byrd has climbed to 3rd on the Stan State all-time blocks in a season list, remaining #2 in hitting percentage (.367) and blocks (1.13/set). Gabby Rawson is coming off of CCAA Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this year and leads the conference in digs per set (4.93). 

OTTERS IN REVIEW: Monterey Bay is currently 4-10 in conference play, putting them in the bottom half of the standings as of late. They lost in their last matchup against the Warriors 3-1. Despite their struggles, the team has been solid defensively, ranking 5th in blocks per set (2.08) and 1st in digs per set (15.51). Senior Sam Chavez is 2nd in the conference in digs, Senior Ashley Vanderpan is 5th in assists, and Sophomore Mikayla Nolte is 5th in blocks.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: The two teams are even at 5-5 historically since 2012. However, the Otters won their last two matches back against the Warriors in 2021.
 
GATORS IN REVIEW: San Francisco State fell 3-1 to the Warriors in their last meeting back in September. They are only two spots behind Stan State in the CCAA leaderboards at 7th, going 8-6 in conference play. The team is 2nd in assists, led by Sophomore Kimberly DeBoer, who leads the CCAA as a passer. They are also 3rd in kills, headed by Gator Freshman Tamiya Wilson, who is #2 in the conference in that category.

ALL-TIME SERIES: The Warriors are 8-18 against San Francisco State since 2008 and lost to the Gators last season on the road 1-3.

UP NEXT: The team will conclude their regular season with two home games against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, Nov. 4th at 5pm, and Cal State LA on Saturday, Nov. 5th at 2pm for Senior Day.
