SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Stan State volleyball goes undefeated for the week, as they come out swinging against Dominican University for a clean Saturday night sweep.

The Warriors got out of the blocks fast with Makenna Carrillo and Alex Byrd sharing a majority of the load offensively in the first set. Carrillo snuck three service aces into her bag of stats and would later finish with a match-high five on the evening. The team led by as much as 11 points and finished the opening set with a 25-14 win.

Setter Haley Burdo was seemingly everywhere all at once with a new career-high 31 assists to go alongside her six digs. Autumn Kirby led all hitters with nine kills for the night, while key role players like Mariah Iosua made solid plays on both offense and defense with two kills and a block assist in the second set alone. Stanislaus State went on to take the Penguins down in the second set 25-17. "This was a great match that really showcased the depth of our team," said Head Coach Lauren Flowers. "I am particularly proud of Alex and Autumn in the middle for being a constant offensive threat for us."

Cassie Corbett showed out in the final set for Stan State with two back-to-back kills and a solo block, while kills from Ellison Weaver, Burdo, Kirby, Iosua, and Carrillo put things on ice to close out the match 25-14.
