Stan State Falls to Central Washington in Their Final Game in Nampa

NAMPA, Idaho. – Another tough shooting night for the Warriors ends in an loss to Central Washington on the road. Freshman Makayla Jackson led Stan State in scoring for a second day in a row with 10 points on 4-11 shooting.
 
FIRST QUARTER: After a slow start, Sophomore Joia Armstrong and Senior Liliana Marques got the offensive going late in the opening quarter, after trailing by as many as 14 points. A hot scoring run from the Wildcats helped them pull away to a sizeable 30-12 lead heading into the second quarter.
 
SECOND QUARTER: Stan State outscored Central Washington in the second period by one point, as Jackson got going after a scoreless first quarter. Sophomore Maya Gorman went 2-2 in the period to finish with a perfect shooting day from the field. Gorman also and added a steal and an assist to her stat sheet. 
 
THIRD QUARTER: After a three-minute scoring drought to open up the second half, Freshman Iman Addison connected on the first two buckets for the Warriors. She would go on to finish with eight points eight rebounds and a block. After more shooting woes from behind the arc and inside the paint, the Wildcats led the game 70-41.
 
FOURTH QUARTER: Sophomore Da'Myiah Lewis stepped up her scoring in the final period, sparking things off with a three-pointer and jump shot to end the game with six points. Marques added to her totals in the fourth quarter, finishing with seven points, six rebounds, and three steals. Central Washington pulled out the victory with an 86-62 final score.
 
Next up for the Warriors is a home opener against Cal State East Bay on Friday night Nov. 18th at 5pm, followed by a Saturday game against Academy of Art at 3pm.
