Stanislaus State to Start CCAA Season in Southern California

Robby Rosas is currently in the top ten in the CCAA in three statistical categories
TURLOCK, Calif.---  After going 3-1-3 to begin their 2022 season, the Stanislaus State men's soccer team will begin their CCAA season this weekend with a pair of matches in Southern California.  The Warriors will start the weekend on Friday, September 23 with a 3pm starting match at Cal State San Bernardino.  They will finish their weekend with a 2pm starting match at Cal State Marcos this Sunday, September 25.
 
LAST MATCH:  The Warriors finished their non-conference slate with a 3-0 win over UC Santa Cruz this Monday at home.  This was the Warriors' fourth shutout of the season and Robby Rosas' third of the season in goal for Stanislaus State.  Finn Hoffmann scored the Warriors' first goal in the ninth minute off a ball from Sammy Villanueva.  The hosts doubled their lead in the 26th minute when Josh Santillan connected on a penalty kick.  Stanislaus State sealed the win in the 75th minute as Erick Anaya scored off a ball from Bradley Magnussen.  Rosas had six saves in goal for the Warriors.
 
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS:  Stanislaus State enters this weekend with a 3-1-3 record including 2-1 at home and 0-0-3 on the road.  Josh Santillan leads the way for the Warriors with his five goals, one assist and 11 points.  Santillan along with Alecxander Cuellar and Finn Hoffmann all have scored game-winning goals this season.  Cuellar is second on the team with his three goals, one assist and seven points. Hoffmann is third with his two goals, one assist and five points. Erick Anaya, Daniel Gomez and Adam Mockridge each have scored goals for the Warriors.  Stanislaus State players with at least one assist besides Santillan, Cuellar and Hoffman are Gerardo Delgadillo, Jorge Lara, Bradley Magnussen, Kai Perez, Dayne Sturtevant and Jimmy Villanueva.
 
Robby Rosas has a 1.00 goals against average in five matches in goal for the Warriors. Rosas has a .706 saves percentage with 12 saves and three shutouts.  Alex Renderos has a 0.50 goals against average in two matches in goal for Stanislaus State.  Renderos has seven saves, a .875 saves percentage and a shutout.
 
AMONGST THE CCAA LEADERS:  Both Josh Santillan and Robby Rosas are amongst the conference statistical leaders in goals, scoring and goalkeeper stats.  Santillan is tied for second with his five goals and is fourth with his 1.57 points per game average.  Rosas is second in shutouts per game (.600), seventh in goals against average (1.00) and tenth in saves per game (2.40).
 
COYOTES IN REVIEW:  Cal State San Bernardino enters Friday's contest with the Warriors with a 4-0-2 recording after posting back-to-back 1-0 shutouts over Azusa Pacific and Cal State San Marcos.  Nicklaus Sullivan leads the way for the Coyotes with his three goals, three assists, nine points and three game-winning goals.  Aiden Hanes has posted a 0.40 goals against average with 27 saves, three shutouts and a .931 saves percentage.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES:  Cal State San Bernardino leads the all-time series with the Warriors 8-3-3.  The Coyotes are unbeaten against Stanislaus State in the last eight matches between the two teams.  They won last year 2-1 in overtime in Turlock.  The last Warrior win was on October 21, 2012, when Stanislaus State defeated the Coyotes 1-0 in San Bernardino.
 
COUGARS IN REVIEW:  Cal State San Marcos is 2-4-1 after dropping its last three matches to Concordia (3-1), Point Loma (2-0) and Cal State San Bernardino (1-0).  Stefano Brunette leads the way for the Cougars with his two goals and four points.  Tristan Monroe and Derek Westwood each have two assists to lead CSUSM.  Jesus Mentado had posted a 1.10 goals against average with 25 saves, .806 saves percentage and one shutout in goal.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: The Cougars lead the all-time series with Stanislaus State 3-1-2.  The Warriors won last year's meeting 1-0 in Turlock.  Josh Santillan scored the game-winning goal for Stan State off a ball from Finn Hoffmann.
