Warriors Announce 2024 Women's Tennis Schedule

Women’s Tennis to Begin Spring Season on February 3

 TURLOCK, Calif.---  After a strong Fall Season, the Stan State women's tennis team will begin their Spring Season on Saturday, February 3 in Rocklin, Calif., for a non-conference match with Jessup University.  This will be the first of 17 matches for the Warriors as they look to qualify for the 2024 PacWest Championships in mid-April in Arizona.
 
The Warriors, under the guidance of head coach Verek Visaraga, compete in the PacWest Conference for women's tennis.  At the 2023 PacWest Conference Championships in Surprise, Ariz., the Warriors finished in fifth place after defeating Hawai'i Hilo 4-1.  Stan State started the championships with a 4-3 win over Fresno Pacific in the First Round.  Point Loma defeated the Warriors 4-0 in the quarterfinals.  The Warriors came back and defeated MSU Denver 4-3 in the consolation semifinals to advance to the fifth-place match where they defeated Hawai'i Hilo. 
 
After their season opener in Rocklin, the Warriors will host American River College on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 2pm in a scrimmage.  Three days later, Stan State will travel to Fresno for a 3pm non-conference match-up with Fresno State University on Friday, Feb. 9.  The Warriors will continue their three-match road trip with a noon starting conference match-up with Dominican in San Rafael on Saturday, Feb. 10.  They will conclude their road trip with a noon starting conference match in Daly City on Sunday, Feb. 11 against Academy of Art. 
 
The Warriors will continue PacWest play when they return home to host Hawai'i Hilo on Sunday, Feb. 25 at noon.  That Friday, March 1, Stan State will host Dominican in another conference match-up at noon.  Stan State will be back in Fresno for a conference match with Fresno Pacific on Saturday, March 2. 
 
Coach Visaraga and the Warriors will return home for a pair of non-conference on March 6 and 10.  They will host Dallas Baptist on Wednesday, March 6 at 10am and the University of Nevada on Sunday, March 10 at noon.  
 
The Warriors will be off for 11 days until their next match. Stan State will be in Atherton, Calif., for a non-conference match-up with Menlo College.  Stan State will travel to Fresno for a PacWest match-up with Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday, March 23.  
 
Stan State will be off a week until the Warriors travel to Colorado for three non-conference matches against Colorado Mesa (Monday, April 1), MSU Denver (Wednesday, April 3), and Colorado State Pueblo (Thursday, April 4).  
 
The Warriors will return to California for a 3pm non-conference match-up at UC Davis on Sunday, April 7. 
 
Their final three matches will be at home. They will host Fresno Pacific in a PacWest match-up on Wednesday, April 10, Jessup in a 1pm non-conference match-up on Friday, April 12, and Academy of Art for a noon starting conference match with Academy of Art on Saturday, April 13.  This will also be the Warriors' Senior Day.
 
The PacWest Conference Championships will take place, April 17-20 at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club in Surprise, Ariz.  Almost a month later, the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis West Regionals will take place, May 10-11.  The NCAA Division II National Women's Tennis Championships are set for May 20-24 in Altamonte Springs, Fla., at Sanlando Park.
