Jack Peters shot a one-under par 71 in the second and final round today at the Dennis Rose Invitational to finish with an even-par 144. Peters led the way for the Warriors as he finished in a tie for 28
th place.. As a team, Stan State moved up a spot to finish in ninth place with its eleven-over par 587 (296-291). The number one ranked Colorado Christian Cougars captured the invitational with a 546 (thirty-under par). The Cougar duo of Sungyeop Cho and Sangha Park tied for individual medalist honors each with a ten-under par 134.
WARRIORS: Finishing in a five-way tie for 24
th place was
Jack Peters with his even-par 144 (73-71).
Ricky Sullivan finished in a six-way tie for 31
st place with his two-over par 146 (75-71).
Chris Chomyn shot a five-over par 149 (70-79) to finish in seven-way tie for 45
th place.
Chase Bird finished three-strokes behind Chomyn with his eight-over par 152 (78-74). One stroke behind Bird was
Nate Jetton with his nine-over par 153 (78-75) to finish tied for 70
th place.
SIXTH AMONGST THE WEST: Of the West Region teams participating in the Dennis Rose, the Warriors had the sixth lowest score with its 587. Sonoma State was the top West Region finisher with its second-place score of 563 followed by Cal State Monterey Bay (third, 569), Cal State East Bay (fourth, 571), Cal State San Bernardino (fifth, 573), Western Washington (sixth, 579) and then Stan State's 587.
TOP FIVE TEAMS: Colorado Christian captured the Dennis Rose with its thirty-under par 546. Finishing in second place with its thirteen-under par 563 was Sonoma State. Six strokes behind the Seawolves were Cal State Monterey Bay with a seven-under par 571 followed by Cal State East Bay in eighth place with a five-under par 573.
TOP FIVE INDIVIDUALS: The Colorado Christian Cougar duo of Sungyeop Cho and Sangha Park each shot a ten-under par 134 to tie for first place. Fellow Cougar Adam Duncan finished in third place with his seven-under par 137. There was a tie for fourth place between Peter Dionne-Yahr (Western Washington) and Ivan Sabian (Sonoma State) each with a six-under par 138.
SHOOTING BIRDIES/PARS: Chase Bird finished with seven birdies in the 36-hole tournament.
Jack Peters finished with twenty-four pars.
THREE IN TOP 20: Three of the teams competing in the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate were ranked in the top 20 in the nation in the first SCOREBOARD, Powered by clippd/NCAA Division II Men's Golf Rankings. Colorado Christian is ranked first while Cal State East Bay is ninth and Cal State Monterey Bay is twentieth.
SEE YOU IN MAY: All of the nineteen teams that competed the past two days in the Dennis Rose Invitational are part of either the West Region or South Central Region. The top ten teams from each of the two regions will receive berths to the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional, May 8-10, 2025. This year's West/South Central Regional will take place at The Victoria Club in Riverside, Calif.
UP NEXT: Stan State will conclude its fall season, October 25-26 at the 36-hole Southwest Airlines/HPU Shark Shootout at the Hapuna Golf Course in Waimea, Hawai'i. All nineteen of the teams that participated in the Dennis Rose will compete in the Southwest Airlines/HPU Shark Shootout this Friday-Saturday.
SPRING SEASON: The complete Spring 2025 schedule will be announced in December. Stan State will host the 50
th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational, April 14-15, at Turlock Golf & Country Club in Turlock, Calif. The 2024-25 CCAA Men's Golf Championships at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, Calif. This year's NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional will be hosted by The Victoria Club in Riverside, Calif., May 8-10. The PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., will host the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships, May 19-25.
