TURLOCK, Calif.--- As announced by the office of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), Stan State multi-athlete
Alfred Nunes was named the CCAA Male Field Athlete of the Week. Nunes recorded four top 30 place finishes including capturing the pole vault twice at the Cal State L.A. Twilights and Cerritos Invite.
Nunes started the week with a first place mark of 15-4.25 (4.67m) to capture the pole vault at the Cal State L.A. Twilights this past Thursday, April 11. The junior transfer captured the pole vault at the Cerritos Invite on Friday, April 12 with a mark of 15-0.75 (4.59m).
The Turlock native also had a fourth place throw of 137-9 (42.00m) in the discus, 15
th place throw of 126-4 (38.50m) in the javelin, and a 26
th place throw of 32-9.75 (10.00m) in the shot put the Cerritos Invite.
With his first place mark of 15-4.25 (4.68m) at the Cal State L.A. Twilight, Nunes is fifth in the CCAA. He is also fifth in the decathlon with 5964 points which he recorded, April 4-5, at the Stanislaus Multi's. Nunes finished in third place with 5964 points.
He is the fourth Warrior to earn a weekly honor from the CCAA this season. For the week of February 12-18,

Cole Bailey were the CCAA Male Track and Field Athletes of the Week. Reyna Dismukes was the CCAA Female Field Athlete of the Week that same week.
Nunes and his Stan State teammates will return to competition, April 26-27, in Fresno, Calif., when the Warriors compete in the Bulldog Invite. Stan State will be hosting the 2024 CCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, May 2-4, at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium.
