Women’s Soccer Records Second Shutout in Scoreless Draw with Westmont

TURLOCK, Calif.---  Stan State posted its second shutout of the season in its scoreless draw with the visiting Westmont College Warriors this evening at Warrior Stadium in Turlock, Calif.  Natalia Ochoa had three saves en route to her second shutout of the season.

FIRST HALF:  Jocelin Roa recorded the first shot on goal attempt in the eighth minute when Westmont's Ellie Ludwig recorded one of her five saves on the evening.  The Warriors had another chance in the 24th minute to take the lead when Ludwig stopped Kayla Perez's shot on goal attempt. With just seven minutes left in the first half, Stan State (3-1-1) looked like it was going to take the lead but Sabrina Cabrera's shot on goal attempt was stopped by Ludwig to send the match into half-time scoreless.

SECOND HALF:  Westmont (0-3-2) recorded its first shot on goal attempt three minutes into the second half off the foot of Amarys Machado which was stopped by Stan State's Natalia Ochoa.  Stan State drove right down the pitch, but Ludwig stopped Arionna Imhoff's shot on goal attempt in the 52nd minute.  Ochoa made another save in the 63rd as she stopped Madison Ford's attempt.  The hosts had one last chance for the lead when Kellyann Rodriguez's shot sailed to the right of the goal to end the game in a scoreless draw.
