Women’s Soccer Travels to Chico for Non-Conference Match-Up with Wildcats

TURLOCK, Calif.---  Stan State will wrap its non-conference slate with a 4:30 p.m. starting non-conference match against Chico State this Saturday, September 28 at University Soccer Stadium in Chico, Calif.  The Warriors enter Saturday's match with a 3-1-2 record. 

LAST TWO MATCHES:  Stan State went 0-0-2 in its last two matches to finish the four-match home stand 2-0-2.  The Warriors played a scoreless draw with Westmont College this past Friday evening.   They outshot Westmont 11-8 including 5-3 in shot on goal attempts.  Natalia Ochoa posted three saves in goal for her second shutout of the season.  Stan State played to a 1-1 draw with Biola on Monday.  Sabrina Cabrera scored her first goal in two years on a cross from Kaley MillerMalia Allen had six saves in goal for the Warriors.   

UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS:  Stan State is 3-1-2 entering its match at Chico State this Saturday afternoon.  Aliah Avila leads the way for the Warriors with her six points.  She has scored two goals which ties her for the team lead with Jocelin Roa.  Avila is tied with Kaley Miller each with a team high two assists.  The sophomore has scored a team leading two game-winning goals with Shauna Johnston has the other game-winner.  Stan State's other two goals are from Haylee Heffner and Sabrina Cabrera.  The Warriors three other assists come from Arionna Imhoff, Kyndra Obermeyer, and Heffner. 
Natalia Ochoa has posted a 0.00 goals against average with a 1.000 saves percentage.  Ochoa has recorded ten saves and two shutouts.  Malia Allen has a 1.69 goals against average with ten saves and a .667 saves percentage. 

CHICO STATE:  The Wildcats will host Biola this evening at 7:00 p.m. before hosting Stan State this Saturday evening.  Chico State is 2-1-2 after tying Seattle Pacific 2-2 and defeating Jessup 1-0 on the road.  Kylie Rolling has scored a team leading two goals of which one is a game-winning goal.  Avery Pieri has scored the other Wildcat game-winner.  Jiana Martin and Hannah Pieri leads the team each with two assists.  Emma Hofmann has posted a 1.20 goals against average with one shutout, 15 saves, and a .714 saves percentage. 

ALL-TIME SERIES:  Chico State leads the all-time series with the Warriors 16-14-9.  Stan State is 2-12 in its last five meeting with the Wildcats including going 1-1 last season.  Chico State won the first meeting of the season 2-1 in Turlock in late September.  Abby Martinez scored the Warriors' goal on a cross from Alexis Brewah.  Stan State defeated Chico State 2-0 in both team's regular season home finale and clinched a spot in the CCAA Soccer Championships.  Brewah scored both the Warriors' goals.  Makeila Yancey and Aliah Avila each assisted on Stan State's goals.  Malia Allen posted two saves in the shutout for the Warriors.

UP NEXT:  After Saturday's match in Chico, the Warriors will return home to Warrior Stadium to begin their CCAA season.  They will host Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. and Cal State Los Angeles on Sunday, October 6 at 11:30 a.m.
