Warriors Drop Game Versus Coyotes

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.--- The Warriors traveled to Cal State San Bernardino this evening, falling 66-47. Stan State was lead in scoring by Daja Scott-Mitchell with 19 points, who added 16 rebounds for a double-double.

FIRST QUARTER: Stan State (4-11, 3-6 CCAA) opened up scoring, but the Coyotes quickly equalized and continued to push their lead. The teams traded points, but Cal State San Bernardino kept their lead. The Coyotes lead at the end of the period 20-16.
 
SECOND QUARTER: Cal State San Bernardino (4-10, 3-6 CCAA) scored first this time, with Alyssa Premo responding with a jumper. The Coyotes went on a 12-point run, broken by four points from the Warriors. San Bernardino continued to lead at the half 38-24.

THIRD QUARTER: The Coyotes opened with six points, followed by a jumper from Amya Vangkham-Griffin. Despite returning shots from the Warriors, Cal State San Bernardino maintained their lead, finishing the quarter up 51-34.
 
FOURTH QUARTER: The fourth quarter began with a nine-point run from Cal State San Bernardino, ended by free throws and a layup from Daja Scott-Mitchell. The Coyotes went on the defensive but the Warriors found opportunities to score. A three-pointer and two free throws were the last of Cal State San Bernardino's scoring, taking the game 66-47.
 
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Daja Scott-Mitchell led the team in scoring for the fourth-straight game, scoring 15 or more in each. Tonight she scored 19 points, combined with 16 rebounds, for a double-double, her fourth of the season. Scott-Mitchell added two assists and two steals to her totals.  
 
UP NEXT: Stan State completes their four-game road trip at the Kellogg Arena, facing Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, January 18th at 1:00 p.m. The Warriors return home for two games next week, facing Sonoma State on Thursday, January 23rd at 5:30 p.m., followed by a game on Saturday, January 25th at 1:00 p.m. versus Cal State San Marcos.
