Warriors Battle to Five Sets at Cal State East Bay Behind Trio of Double-Doubles.

HAYWARD, Calif. --- Despite a career-high 17 kills from Christallynn Tate and double-doubles from Isabella Saucedo, Shaelyn Pruiett, and Reagan Wilkerson, Stanislaus State saw its six-match winning streak come to an end Saturday night with a five-set setback at Cal State East Bay in CCAA volleyball action at Pioneer Gym.

After taking the opening set, Stanislaus State (7–6, 5–1 CCAA) couldn't sustain its rhythm as Cal State East Bay (7–7, 4–2 CCAA) rallied to win three of the next four behind a balanced attack that included eight service aces and 11 team blocks. The Warriors took the fourth set commandingly to force a decisive fifth, but the Pioneers regained momentum late to close out the match.

Set 1
The Warriors set the tone early, hitting efficiently and rolling through a 10–5 burst that featured back-to-back kills from Tate and steady setting from Pruiett. Fallon Freeman closed the frame with three late kills as Stan State took the early advantage.

Set 2
Cal State East Bay answered with improved block touches and serving pressure to even the match. The Pioneers limited the Warriors' offensive rhythm while scoring off aces and capitalizing on a few unforced errors to pull away late.

Set 3
The middle frame featured 11 ties before East Bay used a late finishing push to take control. Despite four kills from Tate and strong setting by Pruiett and Wilkerson, the Pioneers' front line disrupted Stan State's tempo, swinging momentum their way.

Set 4
Stanislaus State responded with its best offensive stretch of the night, hitting at a season-best clip to force a fifth set. Emily Meyer provided a spark with three kills and an ace, while the defense held East Bay to minimal efficiency.

Set 5
Momentum swung back toward the Pioneers, who took an early lead and never trailed again as they closed out the five-set match.
