Stan State Closes Regular Season at Cal State LA and No. 23 Cal Poly Pomona; Hosting CCAA Volleyball Tournament Nov. 20–22

TURLOCK, Calif.--- The Stanislaus State volleyball team closes out the 2025 regular season this weekend on the road, visiting Cal State LA on Friday, November 14, at 5 p.m. and No. 23 Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, November 15, at noon. The Warriors then return home to host the 2025 CCAA Volleyball Tournament, November 20–22, inside Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena.

Weekend recap
Stanislaus State split last week's matches, falling in five sets at UC Merced before bouncing back to sweep Cal State Monterey Bay on Senior Night. Against the Bobcats, the Warriors rallied from a two-set deficit before coming up just short in the fifth, despite a standout effort from Teagan Irish, who hit .548 with 20 kills. Setter Shaelyn Pruiett tallied 62 assists. On Saturday, Stan State dominated Cal State Monterey Bay in straight sets (25–19, 25–13, 25–16), led by 27 kills from Christallynn Tate and 16 from Malia Tanksley. Leah Mendoza recorded 24 digs as the Warriors hit .236 and totaled 17 team blocks in the win.

Team update
Now 11–12 overall and 9–7 in CCAA play, Stanislaus State has clinched its second consecutive CCAA Tournament berth and third in the last four years. The Warriors sit fifth in the conference standings heading into the final weekend. Tate leads the offense with 206 kills and a .257 hitting percentage, followed by Isabella Saucedo (156 kills) and Tanksley (130). Pruiett averages 5.27 assists per set, and Mendoza ranks among the top liberos in the league with 342 digs (3.98 per set). Stan State also ranks third in the CCAA and 22nd nationally in NCAA Division II in blocks per set (2.38), led by Lauren Hamilton, Tate, and Tanksley.

In the CCAA statistical rankings, Tate stands ninth in hitting percentage (.257), Pruiett is eighth in assists per set, and Reagan Wilkerson is tied for seventh in service aces. Irene London ranks second in blocks per set and is tied for seventh in total blocks, while Mendoza is second in total digs and fourth in digs per set.

Scouting Cal State LA
Cal State LA (17–6, 13–3 CCAA) enters the weekend tied for second in the conference and has won five of its last six matches. Samarah DaCoud leads the CCAA in kills per set (4.50) while hitting .285, and Ayjah Landers adds 3.24 kills per set. The Golden Eagles are hitting .234 as a team while holding opponents to .189. In the first meeting this season, LA defeated Stan State 3–1 on October 11 in Turlock (25–19, 25–18, 22–25, 25–21). Cal State LA leads the all-time series 25–4.

Scouting No. 23 Cal Poly Pomona
No. 23 Cal Poly Pomona (18–4, 16–0 CCAA) has clinched the CCAA regular-season title and rides a 16-match win streak into the weekend. The Broncos lead the league in nearly every offensive category, including hitting percentage (.244) and kills per set (14.52). Sarah Ybarra averages 5.06 kills per set on .308 hitting, while Elle Walker adds 3.77 kills per set. In their first meeting on October 31, the Warriors won the opening set before the Broncos came back for a 3–1 victory (23–25, 25–19, 25–22, 25–23). Cal Poly Pomona leads the all-time series 25–6.

CCAA Volleyball Tournament
Stanislaus State will host the 2025 CCAA Volleyball Tournament presented by Under Armour at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena in Turlock, November 20–22. The top six teams in the conference will compete for the league title and the CCAA's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament. Tournament seeding will be determined after this weekend's matches.
