Warriors to Face Chico State this Friday at 4:30 pm in CCAA Semi-finals

Warriors Set for CCAA Semifinal Showdown with Rival Chico State

SEASIDE, Calif.---The No. 3-seeded Stanislaus State women's soccer team continues its postseason journey on Friday when the Warriors face No. 2 seed Chico State in the CCAA Women's Soccer Tournament semifinals at 4:30 p.m. at Cardinale Stadium in Seaside. The winner advances to Sunday's championship match at 3 p.m. to meet either No. 1 Cal Poly Pomona or the winner of the Cal Poly Humboldt and Cal State San Bernardino semifinal.

Warriors Update
Stanislaus State (11-4-4) advanced to the semifinals with a 3-2 win over Cal State East Bay in Sunday's first round. Shauna Johnston opened the scoring in the sixth minute from a Haylee Sousa assist, and Jocelin Roa made it 2-0 in the 31st with a penalty kick—her fourth goal of the season. After East Bay pulled within one, Kellyann Rodriguez scored the eventual game-winner in the 74th minute, assisted by Aliah Avila.

The Warriors have now won five straight and six of their last seven, outscoring opponents 17–7 during that stretch. Stan State was ranked ninth in last week's NCAA Division II West Region rankings. The next regional poll will be released Wednesday, with the final rankings and NCAA Tournament field announced Sunday during the Selection Show.

Warrior Leaders
Olivia Maragos leads the team with seven goals and one assist, ranking tied for second in the CCAA in goals and fifth in points. Avila leads the conference in assists (7), is tied for fourth in game-winning goals (4), and fifth in points (15). Rodriguez is tied for second in assists (5), and Sousa is tied for fourth (4).

Goalkeeper Zara Mujica (10-4-4, 0.93 GAA, .795 save percentage) ranks fifth in the CCAA in GAA, fourth in save percentage and shutouts (6), and third in total saves (66). She anchors a veteran back line of Makeila Yancey, Katie Smith, Brynn Phillips, Olivia Kamm, and Reyna Dismukes that has helped produce eight shutouts this season.

Warrior Record Book
Avila is tied for seventh in career assists (17) and third in game-winning goals (11), while Mujica ranks eighth in career shutouts (8) and tenth in saves (66).

Scouting Chico State
Chico State (9-5-4, 7-2-2 CCAA) finished second in the standings and enters the semifinal unbeaten in seven of its last eight. The Wildcats are led by Taylor McMahon (5 goals, 5 assists), Hannah Pieri (3 goals, 4 assists), and Jiana Martin (4 goals). Goalkeeper Kennedy Briseno has a 1.07 goals-against average and .721 save percentage. Chico defeated Stan State 2-1 on Oct. 24 in Turlock.

Scouting Cal Poly Pomona
Top-seeded Cal Poly Pomona (14-1-3, 7-1-3 CCAA) leads the league in both scoring (1.83 goals per game) and defense (0.56 GAA). Vanessa Cruz tops the CCAA with 11 goals, and goalkeeper Jenna Tetrault has posted eight shutouts.

Scouting Cal State San Bernardino
Cal State San Bernardino (8-6-4, 6-3-2 CCAA) is led by Bella Cervantes (6 goals, 3 assists) and goalkeeper Ryann Munoz (1.10 GAA, .772 save percentage).

Scouting Cal Poly Humboldt
Cal Poly Humboldt (6-5-7, 4-2-5 CCAA) has one of the league's stingiest defenses (0.83 GAA) and is led by Karsyn Ross (4 goals) and goalkeepers Ariana Beddoes and Carson Thomson-Terrel, who have combined for 10 shutouts. Humboldt and CSUSB are currently playing their first-round match, with the winner advancing to face Pomona on Friday.

Series History
Chico State leads the all-time series 19-14-9. The Warriors lead Humboldt 21-8, while Pomona holds a 15-11-3 advantage.
