TURLOCK, Calif.--- The 2025 CCAA Volleyball Tournament presented by Under Armour returns to Turlock this week, with Stan State serving as host at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena from Nov. 20–22.
Six of the conference's top programs will battle for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Championship. The Warriors (13–12, 11–7 CCAA) earned the No. 4 seed and open play Thursday evening against fifth-seeded San Francisco State (11–14, 10–8 CCAA).
Stan State enters its home tournament on a surge after closing the regular season with back-to-back reverse-sweep road victories over Cal State LA and nationally ranked Cal Poly Pomona. The 2024 CCAA Volleyball Tournament champions are among the league's most balanced squads, hitting .209 while ranking near the top of the conference in blocks per set (2.43) and opponent hitting percentage (.158).
Team Capsules
#1 Cal Poly Pomona (19–5, 17–1 CCAA, No. 21 AVCA Poll)
The Broncos claimed the regular-season title behind a .241 team hitting percentage, led by standout outside hitter Sarah Ybarra, who averages 5.06 kills per set on .308 hitting. Setter Kacie Caoili directs the offense with 10.80 assists per set, while CPP limits opponents to .171 hitting.
#2 Cal State San Bernardino (20–5, 15–3 CCAA, Receiving Votes)
The Coyotes feature one of Division II's most physical fronts, leading the league in blocks per set (2.63) while hitting .239. Outside hitter Kacie Pedersen averages 4.12 kills per set, and middle blocker Kisa Sagiao contributes 2.28 kills per set and 85 total blocks.
#3 Cal State LA (17–8, 13–5 CCAA)
The Golden Eagles bring a potent attack led by Samarah DaCoud (4.44 kills/set, .282) and setter Arielle Chandler (5.98 assists/set). LA hits .225 as a team and averages 12.75 kills per set with quality wins over both CPP and CSUSB.
#4 Stan State (13–12, 11–7 CCAA)
The defending 2024 CCAA Volleyball Tournament champions have rediscovered their postseason form, powered by a balanced attack featuring
Christallynn Tate (2.52 kills/set, .253) and
Isabella Saucedo (2.42 kills/set, .203), with
Shaelyn Pruiett averaging 5.53 assists per set.
Malia Tanksley (69 total blocks) anchors one of the CCAA's top blocking units.
#5 San Francisco State (11–14, 10–8 CCAA)
The Gators are paced by outside hitters Grace Witcher (3.12 kills/set) and Aidan Goodrich (3.59 kills/set, .232). Setter Melanie Hewlett ranks among the CCAA leaders with 9.11 assists per set, and SFSU's 2.25 aces per set lead the conference.
#6 Cal State East Bay (13–13, 10–8 CCAA)
Barakat Adekola leads the Pioneers with 3.14 kills per set, while setter Piʻilani Carvalho averages 8.28 assists. East Bay ranks near the top of the CCAA in digs (16.63/set) and blocks (2.08/set).
