Seawolves Take Win Over Warriors in the Wolves Den

ROHNERT PARK, Calif.--- The Warriors faced Sonoma State this evening, falling 76-41. Alyssa Premo led the Warriors with nine points and six rebounds, followed by Jadyn Patterson with eight points, three rebounds, and four steals.

FIRST QUARTER: Sonoma State's (14-12, 12-8 CCAA) first point was scored on a free throw a minute and a half into the game. Stan State quickly turned around and scored two, but the Seawolves found two of their own. After Sonoma State extended their lead to five, the Warriors brought it back even, tying the score before taking the lead 17-15 at the end of the quarter.
 
SECOND QUARTER:
Stan State (5-21, 4-16 CCAA) retaliated against an early five points from Sonoma State, bringing it back within one. The Seawolves went on an eight-point run to extend that lead to nine. The Warriors brought it back down to six, but Sonoma State had unlocked their offense and ended the half leading 34-23.

THIRD QUARTER: Sonoma State got out to a 15-point lead and Stan State could not slow them down. The Warriors earned a free throw, then the Seawolves hit a three. Stan State scored two and Sonoma State went on another eight-point run. Stan State trailed at the end of three quarters 52-27.

FOURTH QUARTER: The Seawolves increased their lead to 28 points, though the Warriors went on a seven-point run to cut some of it down. Sonoma State responded with 10 points of their own and continued to increase their lead despite points from the Warriors. Sonoma State ended the quarter and the game ahead 76-41.
 
PATTERSON:
Jadyn Patterson made her mark across the board with eight points, three rebounds, one assist, and four steals.
 
SENIOR NIGHT:
Next Saturday, Stan State will celebrate its seniors in Da'Myiah Lewis and Daja Scott-Mitchell. Da'Myiah Lewis has played for Stan State for three seasons and has recorded over 700 points and 350 rebounds in her career. Daja Scott-Mitchell transferred this fall and has made her mark with five double-doubles this season and 10 games in which she scored double digits.
 
UP NEXT:
Stan State returns home for their final two games of the regular season. The Warriors will face No.20 Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday, February 27th at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 1st, Cal State San Bernardino will visit the Fitz as we celebrate Senior Day.
