Warriors Sit in a Tie for Seventh Place Heading into Final Round of Pioneer Shootout

ALAMEDA, Calif.---  After the first two rounds of the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, Stan State is in a tie for seventh place with Northwest Nazarene each with a one-over par 577. Ricky Sullivan leads the way for the Warriors with his three-under par 141 at the par-72 Corica Golf Course in Alameda, Calif. 

WARRIORS:  Ricky Sullivan started the shootout shooting a two-under par 70 this morning.  He came back to shoot a one-under par 71 to finish the day with a three-under par 141.  Sullivan is in a six-way tie for 12th place.  Four strokes behind Sullivan is Nate Jetton who shot a two-round score of one-over par 145 (73-72).  Jetton is in a five-way tie for 34th place.  Sitting in a four-way tie for 39th place are Chris Chomyn and Jack Peters.  Chomyn shot back-to-back rounds of 73 to finish with a two-over par 146.  Peters shot a 77 this morning and came back with a three-under par 69 to finish with his 146.  Chase Bird sits in a four-way tie for 80th place with his nine-over par 153 (76-77). 

Three Warriors are playing as individuals at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in Rey Rosas, Armaan Sahota, and Drew Pritchard.  Rosas shot a five-over par 149 (77-72) to sit in a four-way tie for 65th place.  Sahota shot an eleven-over par 155 (81-74) to sit in a three-way tie for 87th place.  Pritchard is in 91st place with his twelve-over par 156 (75-81).

TOP FIVE TEAMS:  Sonoma State is leading the 17-team field with its 17-under par 559 followed by Cal State San Marcos with a 15-under par 561.  Western Washington is in third place with a ten-under par 566.  The hosts, Cal State East Bay, shot a nine-under par 567 to end the two rounds in fourth place.  Eight strokes behind the Pioneers are Simon Fraser and Chico State who are tied for fifth place each with a one-under par 575.  Stan State is just two strokes out of fifth place with its one-over par 577.

TOP THREE INDIVIDUALS:  Cal State San Marcos' Greg Mouser is leading the field with his eleven-under par 133 (67-66). Sitting in second place with his seven-under par 137 (69-68) is Sonoma State's Ivan Sabian.  Adam Brangefeldt is in third place with his six-under par 138 (70-68).

PAIRINGS TOMORROW:  Stan State will tee off at 7:45 a.m. in a shotgun start for the final round of the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout. The Warriors will be paired with Chico State, Northwest Nazarene, and Simon Fraser on holes 6-10. 

UP NEXT: After Tuesday's final round, the Warriors will return to the golf course March 22-25 for two tournaments in the State of Arizona.  They will play in the Spring Break Arizona Invitational #1, March 22-23, at Verrado Golf Club in Buckeye, Ariz.  Stan State will then play in the Spring Break Arizona Invitational #2, at Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz.
