SURPRISE, Ariz.--- Stan State played in its final match of the PacWest Championship Tournament today, facing Colorado Mesa University. The Warriors fought but ultimately fell 4-3 in a nail biter.
Abbigail Mulick and
Parker Orlando finished first in the doubles on court three, taking the win 6-3.
Alyssa Tay and
Maiah White were second to finish on court two, dropping the match 6-3. The Mavericks took the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court one.
Colorado Mesa found their second point on court one, giving them a 2-0 lead.
Parker Orlando and
Abbigail Mulick finished their matches next, earning two points for the Warriors with their wins and bringing the match to a tie.
Emma Yu finished fourth, winning 6-2, 6-4 to give Stan State the lead.
Maiah White battled to a set two tiebreaker but eventually lost to give the Mavericks their third point, tying the score once again. It came down to
Annabelle Mulick on court three, who lost the first set 6-4 but came back to win the second set 7-5. After tense games back and forth, the Mavericks closed it out and took the match 4-3.
