Warriors Sweep Chico State for Third Straight CCAA Victory

TURLOCK, Calif.--- The Stanislaus State volleyball team turned in a dominant performance Friday night at Fitzpatrick Arena, sweeping Chico State in straight sets (25-16, 25-19, 25-13) to extend its winning streak to three matches and remain unbeaten in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play. Led by Isabella Saucedo's 14 kills and a balanced team effort at the net, the Warriors improved to 5-5 overall and 3-0 in conference action while limiting the Wildcats to just a .082 hitting percentage.

Set 1
Stan State took control early and never looked back, hitting efficiently and using strong net play to keep Chico State off balance. Behind a balanced attack from Saucedo and Fallon Freeman, the Warriors pulled away for a 25-16 win.

Set 2
The second set was much tighter, featuring eight ties and several lead changes. The Warriors leaned on timely kills from Saucedo and Freeman, along with steady setting from Shaelyn Pruiett, to edge ahead late. Back-to-back service aces from Lauren Gonzales sealed the 25-19 victory and a two-set advantage.

Set 3
With all the momentum, Stan State dominated the third frame. Freeman and Malia Tanksley made big plays at the net while the defense clamped down to hold Chico State (4-6, 0-3 CCAA) to a .129 hitting percentage. A balanced attack closed the door, and the Warriors wrapped up the sweep with a decisive 25-13 win.
