TURLOCK, Calif. – Stan State completed a perfect 2–0 home stand Sunday afternoon with a 72–68 comeback victory over Cal State San Marcos inside Fitzpatrick Arena. The Warriors trailed by seven at halftime before erupting for 44 second-half points, led by 15 points each from Lloyd French and Mark Jones III. Jason Zimmer added 14 points, while Malachi Johnson chipped in 11 as four Warriors finished in double figures.
First Half
Stan State struck first with an early three-pointer from Malachi Johnson, but Cal State San Marcos (6-5, 3-3 CCAA) found its rhythm from the perimeter and built momentum midway through the half. The Cougars connected on six three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes and used a late push to carry a 35–28 lead into the locker room. Stan State shot 34.6 percent from the field in the first half and went 2-for-12 from three-point range.
Second Half
The Warriors flipped the script after halftime, shooting 56.5 percent in the second half and knocking down seven of 11 attempts from beyond the arc. Stan State (7-5, 3-3 CCAA) quickly cut into the deficit and grabbed momentum with timely perimeter shooting from French and Zimmer. Jones delivered a steady presence offensively and at the free-throw line as the Warriors surged ahead, while Jason Cibull sealed the game by going 4-for-4 at the foul line in the final minute to secure the 72–68 victory.

• Lloyd French tied his career high with 15 points, shooting 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range.
• Mark Jones III scored a season-high 15 points, went a perfect 7-for-7 at the free-throw line, and added six assists.
