TURLOCK, Calif. — Under the guidance of head coach
Brandon Christianson, the Stan State men's golf team is set to return to competition this spring with a challenging and championship-focused schedule that features eight regular-season tournaments and a postseason path that begins at the conference level. The Warriors enter the spring ranked 11th in the region, according to SCOREBOARD by clippd.
Stan State closed the fall portion of the 2025–26 season with a full slate of events against strong regional and national competition. The Warriors opened the year at the Wildcat Classic in Marysville, finishing eighth out of 14 teams after improving their team score each round and posting a three-round total of 860 (-4). Stan State then traveled north for the WWU Invitational in Bellingham, Washington, placing 13th in a challenging field.
In October, the Warriors competed at the NCAA Division II National Preview at Boulder Creek Golf Club — the site of this season's national championships — finishing 13th out of 17 teams while closing with their best round of the tournament. The fall concluded at the Otter Invitational in Seaside, where Stan State placed 11th in a 16-team field after rallying with a strong final round.
The Warriors open the spring with solid scoring metrics across the board. Stan State currently holds a team scoring average of 295.83, which ranks 11th regionally.
Owen Bascom owns a 74.08 scoring average, followed closely by
Riley Kirk at 74.33.
Ricky Sullivan (74.50),
Chase Bird (74.67), and
Carson Diaz (76.00) have also contributed consistent rounds as the Warriors head into the heart of the spring schedule.
Stan State begins the spring on February 9–10 at the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational in Vista, California, competing at Shadowridge Golf Club. The Warriors then head north later in the month for the Visit Stockton DII Invitational on February 23–24 at The Reserve at Spanos Park — the same course that will also host the CCAA Championships and the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional.
March includes two key events, beginning with the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout hosted by Cal State East Bay on March 9–10 at Corica Park in Alameda. The Warriors will then compete at the Coyote Classic, hosted by Cal State San Bernardino, on March 23–24 at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont.
April concludes the regular season with the Warriors' home event, the 51st Hanny Stanislaus Invitational, scheduled for April 13–14 at Turlock Golf & Country Club.
Postseason play begins with the CCAA Championships from April 20–22 at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, where the Warriors will compete for a berth into the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional. NCAA regional play is scheduled for May 7–9 in Stockton, with qualifying teams advancing to the NCAA Division II National Championships, set for May 18–22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
