Warriors to Begin Their Outdoor Season this Weekend in Fresno

Warriors Ready for Outdoor Track & Field Opener at Sunbird Invitational

TURLOCK, Calif. — The 2026 outdoor season gets underway for Stan State men's and women's track & field this weekend as the Warriors travel to Fresno for the Fresno Pacific Sunbird Invitational, scheduled for Feb. 20-21.
The meet marks the start of the outdoor track & field season for Stan State, which will compete across sprints, hurdles, distance, relays, jumps, throws and pole vault over the two-day event.

Friday: Throws Open the Season
Action begins Friday at 1 p.m. with the throwing events.

For the women, Lexi Pulido will compete in the javelin, while Sienna Hawkins, Grace Lagenfield, Alexis Nino and Donielle Willis are slated for the hammer throw.

On the men's side, Logan Edwards, Luke Giannotta and Mason Phillips will compete in the hammer, followed by Joseph Easterwood, Christopher Ruiz and Justice McDermont in the javelin.

Saturday: Full Slate of Field and Track Events
Saturday features a packed day of competition.

Field events begin at 9 a.m. with the women's long jump as Reyna Dismukes and Richiya Washington represent Stan State. In the shot put, Alexis Nino and Donielle Willis will compete.
At 11 a.m., Dismukes and Washington return for the triple jump.

For the men, Ivan Mendoza, Eligah Lawrence, Joseph Easterwood, Justice McDermont and Owen Dismukes are entered in the long jump. Phillips, Giannotta and Edwards will throw in the shot put, while Lawrence and Owen Dismukes compete in the triple jump. Easterwood and McDermont are scheduled for the pole vault at 1 p.m.

On the track, the women's 4x100 relay will feature Roseli Diaz, Ahlia Albergottie, Megan Silva and Donielle Willis.

In the 1500 meters, Annie Wild, Crystal Hernandez, Izzy Soto, Stevie Holguin, Bela Moreno, Roseli Diaz, Valorie Jimenez, Aubrey Lascano, Megan Silva and Aubrey Webb will compete.
Albergottie will also run the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles.

Crystal Hernandez, Izzy Soto, Megan Silva and Roseli Diaz are entered in the 800 meters, while Wild, Holguin, Moreno, Lascano and Jimenez will race in the 3000 meters to close out the meet.

For the men, the 4x100 relay squad of Eligah Lawrence, Jaevin Sawyer, Eric Green and Justice McDermont will compete late Saturday morning.

Timothy Miles, McDermont and Easterwood are entered in the 110-meter hurdles.

Stan State will have a strong presence in the 1500 meters with Jackson Oliveira, Mason Oliveira, Jason Arriaza, Xavier Biwott, Diego Cisneros, Quentin Clarke, Austin Hein, Julian Hernandez, Patricio Kearney, Gurdave Pandher and Evan Silva.

In the 400 meters, Andrew Bishop, Green, Julian Sanchez, Sawyer and Blayne Seibert are set to compete. Hein and Silva will also race in the 800 meters.

The Warriors will be well represented in the 200 meters with Sawyer, Miles, Sanchez, Bishop, Green, Mendoza and Seibert entered.

NCAA Division II Indoor National Rankings Update
Stan State enters the outdoor season carrying strong momentum from the 2025–26 indoor campaign, posting multiple NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks and national rankings. Annie Wild ranks 20th nationally in the 800 meters (2:09.90) and fifth in the mile (4:41.94), while Mila Real sits 31st in the 400 meters (55.63) following her performance at the Husky Classic. The Stanislaus State distance medley relay team of Crystal Hernandez, Real, Izzy Soto and Wild ranks ninth nationally with a time of 11:38.87, and Alexis Nino is currently 10th in the nation in the shot put (15.15m/49-8.5) from the Wolf Pack Classic. Official selections for the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for March 12–14 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, will be announced March 3 on www.ncaa.com.

Strong Showing at 2025 CCAA Championships
Stan State is coming off a strong performance at the 2025 CCAA Track & Field Championships, where the Warriors earned All-CCAA honors in 19 events while hosting the meet at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium. Jaevin Sawyer was named the CCAA Men's Track & Field Freshman of the Meet, and four Warriors captured individual conference titles.

Trent Lauderdale won the 400-meter hurdles (51.06), Alexis Nino claimed the hammer (158-8), Jaevin Sawyer captured the 200 meters (21.07), and Annie Wild won the 1500 meters (4:21.42). Lauderdale, now serving as a current assistant coach for the Warriors this season, was one of the meet's standout performers a year ago.

In addition to the individual champions, Stan State recorded multiple All-CCAA relay performances, six NCAA Division II qualifying marks, and several school records, including Sawyer in the 100 meters (10.42) and the men's 4x100 relay (40.65). Both the Warrior men and women finished fourth in the final team standings.

All-Americans at 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships
Stan State is also coming off a standout performance at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Pueblo, Colorado, where Trent Lauderdale, Annie Wild and Mila Real earned All-American honors. Lauderdale placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best 50.16, recording the second-fastest time in program history. Wild finished fifth in the 1500 meters (4:32.30), earning her second All-American honor of the year after winning the indoor mile national title. Real added an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (59.91) to secure her first career All-American award.
Both the Warrior men and women tied for 39th in the final team standings, highlighting the program's continued success on the national stage heading into 2026.

Following the Sunbird Invitational, Stan State will compete at the Kim Duyst Invitational (March 6–7) at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium in Turlock, where the Warriors will recognize their seniors on March 7. The team will then travel to the Mark Conover Classic (March 21) in San Luis Obispo and the West Coast Relays (March 27–28) in Clovis. The Warriors are also scheduled to compete at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational (April 3–4) in Berkeley, the Mike Fanelli Track Classic (April 3–4) in San Francisco, the Stanford Invitational (April 3–4), the Bryan Clay Invite (April 16–18) in Azusa, the Mt. SAC Relays (April 16–18) in Walnut, and the Leopard Invitational (April 16–18) in La Verne. The postseason begins with the CCAA Track & Field Championships (April 30–May 2) in San Marcos, followed by the NCAA Division II National Championships (May 21–23) in Emporia, Kansas.
