HAYWARD, Calif. – Stan State women's basketball opened its final road trip of the regular season Thursday evening at Pioneer Gymnasium, taking on Cal State East Bay in CCAA play. The Warriors set the tone early and stayed within striking distance all night, but a late fourth-quarter push by the Pioneers earned East Bay a 56-48 win.

First Quarter
Stan State came out with energy on both ends, turning defense into offense and controlling the tempo early. Eryn Gardner scored inside to open the scoring, and Alyssa Premo added a pair of baskets in the paint as the Warriors jumped in front. Stan State held East Bay to 10 points in the quarter and took an 18-10 lead after one.
Second Quarter
The pace slowed in the second, with both teams battling through a stretch of missed shots and turnovers. The Warriors continued to compete defensively and generated extra chances on the glass, but East Bay chipped away at the margin. Stan State went into halftime up 23-20.
Third Quarter
East Bay found momentum coming out of the locker room, stringing together key stops and timely perimeter shots to take the lead. The Warriors stayed locked in defensively and worked to answer with second-chance opportunities, but the Pioneers carried a 34-31 advantage into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
Stan State continued to fight behind its defense and rebounding, keeping the game within reach deep into the final minutes. East Bay capitalized late at the free-throw line to create separation and close out the game.
