ATHERTON, Calif. – Stan State women's tennis fell 5-2 to Menlo College on Saturday morning in PacWest action at the Wunderlich Tennis Courts.
Menlo secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Emma Yu and Abbigail Mulick dropped a 6-2 decision at the top spot, while Parker Orlando and Katrine Damkjær fell 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. The No. 3 doubles match featuring Maiah White and Emi Mikami went unfinished.
In singles play, the Warriors picked up two points in competitive fashion. Katrine Damkjær earned a strong 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles, controlling key moments in both sets. Emi Mikami added another point at No. 6, rebounding after dropping the first set to win 6-7, 6-4, 6-1.
Several other courts were tightly contested. Emma Yu pushed her No. 2 singles match to three sets, falling 7-6, 1-6, 6-2. Parker Orlando battled in a third-set tiebreak at No. 4 before coming up just short, 6-7, 6-4, 11-9. Abbigail Mulick competed at No. 1 singles, dropping a 6-4, 6-4 decision, while Maiah White fell in straight sets at No. 5.
The Warriors now shift their focus to a busy upcoming homestand in Turlock.

Stan State returns home for four consecutive matches at the Stan State Tennis Courts, beginning Wednesday, March 11, with a 2:00 p.m. PacWest matchup against Hawaii Pacific. The Warriors will then host Illinois State on Thursday, March 12, at 1:00 p.m.
Conference play continues Sunday, March 15, as Stan State takes on Dominican at 12:00 p.m., followed by a Monday matchup against Chaminade on March 16 at 12:00 p.m.
With four matches in six days, the upcoming stretch presents a key opportunity for the Warriors to gain momentum in PacWest play while defending home courts.
