TURLOCK, Calif. — A balanced scoring attack powered Stan State to a 74–67 win over Cal Poly Humboldt on Saturday afternoon at Fitzpatrick Arena, as four Warriors reached double figures in a key CCAA victory. Antony Newman-Gomez posted a season-high 15 points to lead Stan State, while Malachi Johnson, Lloyd French, and Tahjae Ordonio each added 10 as the Warriors moved into a four-way tie for sixth place in the conference standings with six games remaining in the regular season. The top six teams will qualify for the 2025–26 CCAA Men's Basketball Championship, scheduled for March 5–7 in Pomona.
First Half
Stan State set the tone early and never trailed, building a double-digit advantage before halftime behind efficient ball movement and control of the glass. The Warriors opened the game with strong interior play and used a 12–2 run midway through the half to stretch the margin. Stan State carried a 35–25 lead into the break, holding Cal Poly Humboldt to 32.3 percent shooting while capitalizing at the free-throw line.
Second Half
Cal Poly Humboldt came out aggressive after halftime and trimmed the deficit, but Stan State answered every push to close out the 74–67 victory. The Warriors maintained composure late, converting timely free throws and limiting second-chance opportunities down the stretch to secure the wire-to-wire win.

Stan State improved to 11–11 overall and 7–9 in CCAA play and is part of a four-way tie for sixth place in the conference standings with six games remaining in the regular season. Cal Poly Humboldt dropped to 12–10 overall and 10–6 in league action and sits third in the CCAA. At the top of the standings, No. 3 Cal State East Bay remains unbeaten in conference play at 15–0 (21–0 overall) and is hosting Cal State Dominguez Hills (16–5 overall, 12–3 CCAA)
in a key regular-season matchup as the race for the six-team 2025–26 CCAA Men's Basketball Championship continues to tighten.
