TURLOCK, Calif. – Stan State women's tennis battled tough conditions Friday afternoon, falling 6-1 to Menlo College in PacWest action at the Stan State Tennis Courts.
With high temperatures impacting play, multiple matches featured extended rallies, momentum swings, and heat-related breaks as both teams worked through demanding conditions.
Stan State earned the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Parker Orlando and Katrine Damkjær secured a 7-5 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Maiah White and Emi Mikami followed with a 7-6 win at No. 3 to give the Warriors early momentum.
In singles play, the Warriors competed across every court in physical matches that tested endurance and focus.
Abbigail Mulick highlighted the afternoon at No. 1 singles, taking the opening set and battling through long rallies in a three-set match. After a strong start, she continued to compete point-by-point before ultimately falling in a tightly contested finish.
Parker Orlando faced one of the most challenging matches of the day at No. 4 singles. After winning the first set, she battled through the heat and required a medical stoppage in the second before returning to finish the match, continuing to compete through difficult conditions.
Maiah White competed in a long two-set match at No. 5 singles, featuring extended rallies and close games throughout. Emi Mikami also turned in a strong performance at No. 6, pushing her match to three sets and battling until the final points.
Menlo secured the match with wins across the remaining singles courts to claim the 6-1 decision.

Stan State returns to the road next week, beginning Friday, March 27, at 12:00 p.m. against Concordia University Irvine. The Warriors will then face Cal State Los Angeles on March 29 in Fresno before returning to the Central Valley for a key PacWest matchup against Fresno Pacific on April 2 at the Del Rio Country Club.
The road swing concludes April 4 with a conference matchup at Dominican.
