TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State split its Saturday doubleheader with Cal State Dominguez Hills, falling 27–16 in the opener before bouncing back with a 4–3 walk-off victory in the nightcap at Warrior Baseball Diamond.
The Warriors moved to 19–24 overall and 10–16 in CCAA play, while the Toros are now 18–22 overall and 10–17 in conference action. Stan State will look to split the weekend series in its home finale on Sunday at 12 p.m., with Senior Day festivities scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
Cal State Dominguez Hills came out swinging in the opener, building an 11–0 lead through the first two innings and extending that advantage to 25–10 through seven innings. The Toros pounded out 30 hits in the 27–16 win.
Stan State continued to battle throughout the game and finished with 16 hits. Art Navarette Jr. went 3-for-6 with four runs scored and two RBI, while Tyler Crudo was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. Chris Ortiz drove in three runs, and Austin Sargent homered and finished with two hits and an RBI. Shane Callison scored twice and drove in a run, while AJ Carter had two hits and two RBI. Zach Geiss (1–5) took the loss.
Game two was a different story, as the Warriors responded with a tight 4–3 win in seven innings.
Dominguez Hills took a 1–0 lead in the first, but Stan State answered immediately when Art Navarette Jr. singled and later scored on a two-run home run by Chris Ortiz to put the Warriors in front 2–1.
The game remained that way until the sixth, when Navarette Jr. singled and eventually scored on a Chase Wilson RBI groundout to give Stan State a 3–1 lead.
The Toros rallied to tie the game in the seventh on a two-run homer by Nigel Buckley, but the Warriors answered in the bottom half. Tyler Crudo drew a leadoff walk, Eli Hancock reached on a bunt, and Kian Sanchez worked a walk to set the stage for Navarette Jr., who delivered the walk-off single to left center to score Hancock and lift Stan State to the 4–3 victory. River Diaz De Leon (2–1) was charged with the loss.
Navarette Jr. led the way in the nightcap, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and the game-winning RBI. Ortiz went 1-for-1 with two walks and two RBI, while Kelley and Carter each added a hit.
Eli Blurton turned in a strong start in game two, going 6.1 innings while allowing three runs and striking out six, tying his season high. Payton Hawkinson earned the win in relief to improve to 2–4.

- Art Navarette Jr. went a combined 6-for-10 on the day with five runs scored, three RBI and the walk-off single in game two.
- Chris Ortiz drove in six runs across the doubleheader, including a two-run homer in the nightcap.

CCAA Standings
Cal State Monterey Bay leads the CCAA standings at 18-9 in conference play and 33-12 overall. Cal Poly Pomona is second at 17-11 (27-18 overall), followed by Cal State San Marcos at 15-12 (28-14 overall) and Cal State LA at 16-15 (26-23 overall).
Cal State San Bernardino improved to 14-13 in conference play and 22-22 overall after sweeping Cal State East Bay, which now sits at 12-16 in the CCAA and 21-25 overall. Chico State is 12-15 (23-22 overall), while Stan State is 10-16 (19-24 overall) and Cal State Dominguez Hills is 10-17 (18-22 overall).
The top five teams at the conclusion of the regular season will advance to the CCAA Baseball Championship Tournament, scheduled for May 6–9 in San Bernardino.

Saturday's action saw Stan State and Cal State Dominguez Hills split their doubleheader (27-16 CSUDH, 4-3 Stan State), while Cal State San Bernardino swept Cal State East Bay (14-6, 12-7). Cal State San Marcos and Cal State LA split their doubleheader, and Chico State continued its series with Cal State Monterey Bay in Chico. Cal Poly Pomona remained in non-conference play at Westmont.
Sunday's series finales are set across the conference, with Cal State Monterey Bay at Chico State and Cal State Dominguez Hills at Stan State both scheduled for 12 p.m., while Cal State LA concludes its series at Cal State San Marcos at 2 p.m.
