No. 12 Stan State Captures Kim Duyst Twilight Behind Holguin’s Individual Title

CERES, Calif.--- Stevie Holguin captured the individual title while No. 12 Stan State placed four runners among the top five and all five scorers in the top nine to capture the team championship at the Kim Duyst Twilight Saturday evening at River Oaks Golf Course. The Warriors finished ahead of NCAA Division I UC Santa Barbara to capture their second consecutive Kim Duyst Twilight team title.

Stan State finished with 22 points to win the seven-team race, defeating UC Santa Barbara by 11 points. San Francisco State finished third with 107 points. The Warriors posted a scoring-five average of 21:04.2 and a total time of 1:45:21.

Holguin won the women's 6K in 20:41.4, finishing 3.5 seconds ahead of UC Santa Barbara's Jordin Lieberman, who placed second in 20:44.9. Kekaihulali Halpern finished third overall in 20:51.9, giving Stan State two of the first three runners across the finish line.

Annie Wild followed in fourth with a time of 21:00.3, while freshman Natalie Arriaza placed fifth in 21:05.7. Izzy Soto completed the Warriors' scoring five with a ninth-place finish in 21:41.7.

Stan State's five scorers occupied first, third, fourth, fifth and ninth place, with just 60.3 seconds separating Holguin from Soto.

Megan Silva gave the Warriors a sixth runner among the top 20, finishing 18th in 22:13.4. Risa Reynier placed 28th in 23:01.3, followed by Roseli Diaz in 30th at 23:02.3, Sophie Benham in 32nd at 23:07.9 and Aubrey Webb in 33rd at 23:10.3.  Demiree Dean finished 45th in 23:49.3, while Elizabeth Christopher placed 58th in 24:52.5.

The victory marked the second consecutive Kim Duyst Twilight team championship for Stan State. The Warriors captured the 2025 title with 75 points before lowering that total to 22 points in Saturday's victory.

Stan State will have nearly a month away from competition before returning to San Francisco on Friday, Oct. 9, for the San Francisco State Invitational at Speedway Meadows. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. and will be the Warriors' final competition before the CCAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 7 in San Bernardino.
