Stan State Athletics continues CCAA play in soccer and volleyball this week, while women's tennis begins its fall competition schedule at the Dominican Hidden Duals. Friday features four Warrior events, with women's tennis opening play at Dominican, men's soccer hosting No. 8 Cal State San Bernardino at 4 p.m., volleyball traveling to San Francisco State for a 5 p.m. match and women's soccer hosting Cal State San Bernardino at 7 p.m. Women's tennis continues play Saturday, while volleyball visits Cal State East Bay at 5 p.m. The week concludes Sunday with a soccer doubleheader against Cal State East Bay at the UCSF Health Oakland Roots & Soul Performance Center in Alameda, beginning with the men at 11:30 a.m. followed by the women at 2 p.m.

Women's Cross Country Ranked No. 11 Nationally, No. 2 in West Region
Stan State is tied for No. 11 in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II National Coaches' Poll released Sept. 16 and is No. 2 in the West Region. The Warriors earned the national ranking after capturing their second consecutive Kim Duyst Twilight championship with 22 points, finishing 11 points ahead of NCAA Division I UC Santa Barbara. Stevie Holguin won the individual 6K title in 20:41.4 and earned her second consecutive FloCollege/CCAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor.

Stan State returns to competition Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Bronco Invitational at Baylands Regional Course in Sunnyvale, with the women's race scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The next USTFCCCA West Region rankings will be released Tuesday, Sept. 29, followed by the national rankings Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Men's Golf Receives Votes in National Coaches' Poll
Stan State received 27 votes in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches' Poll following its second-place finish at the Wildcat Classic. The Warriors opened the season with a school-record 34-under-par 830, while their second-round 271 set a program record for the lowest team round. Mason Montgomery led Stan State with a sixth-place finish at 9-under 207. The Warriors return to competition Oct. 5-6 at the RCA Electric Fall Invitational in Monterey, with the next national coaches' poll scheduled for Oct. 16.

Women's Soccer Splits CCAA Road Weekend
Stan State split its two-match Southern California road trip, earning a 2-1 victory at No. 14 Cal State LA on Friday before falling 1-0 at Cal State San Marcos on Sunday. Aliah Avila and Olivia Maragos scored in the victory over the nationally ranked Golden Eagles, with Mandy Thao recording an assist. Zara Mujica made eight saves over the two matches. The Warriors are 4-2-2 overall and 3-1 in CCAA play.

Maragos leads Stan State with four goals and 10 points, while Avila has three goals and two assists for eight points. Mujica has 37 saves, three shutouts and a 0.75 goals-against average. The Warriors return home to host Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. before facing Cal State East Bay on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. at the UCSF Health Oakland Roots & Soul Performance Center in Alameda.

Volleyball Splits CCAA Pod Weekend
Stan State split its two home matches during the CCAA Pod Weekend, falling 3-0 to San Francisco State before defeating Cal State East Bay in five sets, 27-25, 10-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-6. Fallon Freeman led the Warriors with a career-high 23 kills while hitting .392 and adding 15 digs against East Bay. Reagan Wilkerson recorded 43 assists and 21 digs, while Maggie Olson added 12 kills and Rylee Szyszka had 17 digs. The Warriors are 5-7 overall and remain 1-2 in CCAA play since the Pod Weekend matches did not count toward the conference standings.

Through 12 matches, Emily Meyer leads Stan State with 111 kills, Lauren Gonzales has a team-high 17 service aces and Wilkerson leads with 270 assists. Leah Mendoza has a team-best 135 digs, while Lauren Hamilton leads the Warriors with 48 total blocks and a .333 hitting percentage. Stan State returns to CCAA play on the road against San Francisco State on Friday, Oct. 2, at 5 p.m. and Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 5 p.m.

Men's Soccer Returns Home to Host No. 8 Cal State San Bernardino
Stan State dropped a pair of CCAA road matches in Southern California, falling 2-1 at Cal State LA on Friday and 3-1 at Cal State San Marcos on Sunday. Emmanuel Duran scored against Cal State LA off an assist from Luis Saldana, while Alexis Cervantes scored against Cal State San Marcos with Christian Brenes recording the assist. Dylan Isasi made 11 saves during the weekend. The Warriors are 2-4-4 overall and 0-2-2 in CCAA play.

Cervantes leads Stan State with six goals and 12 points, while Adrian Yepez has two goals and a team-high four assists. Duran has two goals and an assist for five points, while Isasi has 33 saves and two shutouts. The Warriors return to Warrior Stadium to host No. 8 Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, Oct. 2, at 4 p.m. before facing Cal State East Bay on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at the UCSF Health Oakland Roots & Soul Performance Center in Alameda.

Men's Cross Country Remains No. 8 in West Region
Stan State remains No. 8 in the USTFCCCA West Region rankings released Sept. 15 after finishing third at the Kim Duyst Twilight and as the top NCAA Division II team in the 10-team field. Jackson Oliveira finished second overall and was the top collegiate finisher in 24:05.5, while twin brother Mason Oliveira placed fourth in 24:29.6 and Guardave Pandher finished 12th in 24:52.1. Jackson Oliveira was also named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the first time in his career.

The Warriors return to competition Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Bronco Invitational at Baylands Regional Course in Sunnyvale, with the men's race scheduled for 8:45 a.m. The next USTFCCCA West Region rankings will be released Tuesday, Sept. 29, followed by the national rankings Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Women's Tennis Opens Fall Schedule at Dominican Hidden Duals
Stan State women's tennis begins its 2026-27 season Friday and Saturday at the Dominican Hidden Duals at the Castellucci Family Tennis Center in San Rafael. Head coach Verek Visaraga's six-player roster features senior Abbigail Mulick, junior Nica Sobrapena and sophomores Katrine Damkjær, Alessandra Del Pino Carvajal, Lisa Lieberman and Emi Mikami.

The Dominican Hidden Duals are the first of three fall competitions for the Warriors. Stan State will compete at the ITA Regionals, Oct. 15-18, in Fresno before concluding the fall at the Menlo College Hidden Duals, Oct. 30-31, in Atherton. The Warriors' 2027 spring schedule will be announced later this calendar year.

Warrior Volleyball Highlights Alopecia Awareness
Stan State volleyball highlighted alopecia awareness during its Sept. 24 home opener against San Francisco State. Junior setter Ireland Avalos and freshman middle blocker Soraya Forbes shared their personal experiences with alopecia through a special video feature, while Warrior student-athletes, coaches and staff wore blue shirts in recognition of Alopecia Awareness Month and in support of Avalos and Forbes. The match helped promote awareness, understanding and support for those affected by alopecia.

Fall Season Tickets Available for Warrior Athletics
Season tickets for the 2026 fall season are available for Warrior Athletics home events. Family passes are $120 and include admission for two adults and up to four children, while individual season tickets are $60. Single-game tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children ages 5-17 and seniors ages 55 and older. Stan State Athletics will be cashless for all ticket purchases during the 2026-27 academic year.
